Overview: Haruto puts on a mask of a kind, if bumbling journalist. He acts like a klutz and appears to be rather clumsy. This is just a mask though. He is actually quite a cool, if not chilly, individual who remains permanently detached from others. He carries a heavy burden and keeps many secrets from his friends and enemies.

Henshin Sequence: Haruto presses the buttons and clicks the Poseidon Buckle into place. Three projections of the buttons surround him and envelop him in light. The light dissipates, and Poseidon is left standing there.

In the future, the Mirages won. Humans in Suito were practically non-existent, save for a small underwater resistance. Haruto and his older brother Azuho were children of two soldiers. They were practically brought up to fight Mirages. Unbeknownst to them, they were also a failsafe of the resistance. It would be the turning point for Suito's human survival. Azuho was given the Poseidon Driver and was declared the greatest hope for humanity. If Azuho failed, Haruto would be his backup. Within days, a plan was laid out. Using the abilities of a kidnapped Mirage, Azuho would travel back in time and destroy the Mirages when they first appeared.

Azuho was successfully transported back in time, and fought alongside another Rider for a time. A Rider called Aqua. Though they fought together momentarily, Poseidon was forced to abandon his temporary comrade to attack the Mirages at the source: the fountain. He fought valiantly, but was killed by an incredibly powerful Mirage. Haruto didn't take the news well. Yet he was to be Azuho's replacement. Given yet another Poseidon Driver, Haruto was sent a little further ahead in time. He faked credentials and became a journalist, giving him good reason to investigate Mirages and the other Riders of Suito.

A storm rocked Suito. It had come out of nowhere, and was battering against the city. This storm wasn't natural. It was being caused by an unnatural force entering Suito. It was the storm that preceded the primitive time travel devised by the humans of the future Suito. They were sending someone back.

This person wasn't there to try and solve the world's problems with technology and ideas from the future. They weren't going to cure all diseases or invent rocket boots. No. This person only had a single goal. Stop the Mirages and save Suito.
