Hero Stuff
Name: Avatar
Type Of Hero: Rider
Henshin Device: Lost Driver, Impulse Memory, Light Memory, Dark Memory, Final Memory
Henshin Sequence: After placing the Driver on, he whips out the Impulse Memory, clicks the Memory and inserts it in the slot. By pushing the slot to the side, the Driver activates and pulses of energy emanates from it, forming his armor.
Forms:
- Form Name: Impulse Normal
Image/ Description: The helmet resembles Eternal's but with 2 prongs instead of 3 which points diagonally instead of straight up. The eye portion has something resembling a visor located above it. The overall armor looks very much like Eternal's but a more detailed wrist guard, shoulder pads and added knee guards.
Motif: Basic Armor
Color Scheme: Overall grey color armor with white lining the wrists, knee guards, shoulder pads and chest armor. The eye is tinted black.
Transformation: The sequence stated above.
Fighting Style: Uses various Chinese martial arts styles to suit the situation; Bajiquan for close quarters, Piguaquan for range, Xingyiquan for single opponents and Baguazhang for multiple enemies. In the case where weapons are needed, there is the Impulse Edge.
Weapons: Impulse Edge, a combat knife sized weapon.
Abilities: Base form that has no particular strength nor weakness, its only ability is to send a wave of energy to the point of contact if an attack hits.
Finisher(s):
Impulse Kick Breaker: Activated by inserting the Impulse Memory into the right slot on the belt.
Impulse Edge Breaker: Activated by inserting the Impulse Memory into the slot located at the base of Impulse Edge, this is not a slashing finisher but a punching finisher despite the name. - Form Name: Light Impulse
Image/ Description: Similar to Impulse normal but with added arm guards, greaves and a more detailed chest armor and shoulder pads, giving it a bulkier look. The visor has shifted down over the eyes resembling that of Knight from Ryuki only the eyes is visible due to the color.
Motif: Armored Knight
Color Scheme: The grey portion turns white and the lining turns yellow. The additional armor and the eyes are in royal blue.
Transformation: Switching out the Impulse or Dark Memory with the Light Memory. Impulse Normal or Dark Impulse must always be the starting form. Joel cannot change into Light Impulse directly.
Fighting Style: Using the Claymore Impulse either one-handed or two handed to beat down his foes. Should the need arise, there is the Buckler Impulse to use defensively and deflect closed ranged attacks. This form is ideal for going head on with heavy attackers or breaking the defenses of an opponent.
Weapons: Claymore Impulse, essentially a claymore styled weapon that materializes with the armor and is activated at the base of the hilt with the Claymore Memory. Buckler Impulse, a small shield located at the left wrist initially as a slot for the Buckler Memory, after inserting the Memory, the shield will materialize.
Abilities: This form increases the defense and attack power. Aside from inheriting the Impulse ability which is mostly used by the Buckler Impulse to ward off attacks, instead of using the Buckler Memory, the Light Memory can be used on the left hand slot to create a flash of light to cause momentary blindness. This ability is not usable more than twice per battle.
Finisher(s):
Impulse Flash Breaker: Activated by inserting the Impulse Memory in the right slot of the belt, it is a two handed swing after the energy is gathered into the Claymore Impulse. While it can be fired as a ranged move, it is most effective with direct contact to the target due to the Impulse ability. - Form Name: Dark Impulse
Image/ Description: Similar to Impulse Normal but without the shoulder pads and smaller chest armor. The knee and wrist guards along with the chest armor become smaller and get a jagged design. There are two small extensions on the back with a long piece of fabric hanging from each extension reaching just above knee height. The visor now angles itself over the eye to give a frowning look the way eyebrows work.
Motif: Grim Reaper
Color Scheme: The gray portion turns black with the lining turning gray. The wrist and knee guards along with the chest armor and the eyes turn crimson red, just like the fabric at the back.
Transformation: Switching out the Impulse or Light Memory with the Dark Memory. Impulse Normal or Light Impulse must always be the starting form. Joel cannot change into Dark Impulse directly.
Fighting Style: Using the Scythe Impulse to deliver swift decisive blows, it is used to dispatch enemies quickly. With no other weapons, the Scythe Impulse has a long range form to go with its medium range form. The long range form involves the scythe head being thrown out attached to a chain. If the enemy gets too close then kicks will be used to push them back.
Weapons: Scythe Impulse, a scythe weapon that materializes with the armor like a sickle with a giant blade. By inserting the Scythe Memory in the slot located at the handle, the base will extend to form the length of the weapon.
Abilities: This form increases speed and attack rate. The Impulse ability from the default form is now used to boost jumping ability and to increase speed with every step. However, he must slow down occasionally or else he will go too fast and lose control, potentially running himself into a wall or something. Using the Dark Memory on the slot on his right leg, he can use the Shadow ability, allowing him to jump from one shadow to another. This can be use no more than twice per battle.
Finisher(s):
Impulse Shadow Striker: Activated by inserting the Impulse Memory into the right slot on the belt and dashing toward the enemy. With a swing and where the blade connects, two shadow blades will appear and strike from different directions. Great against multiple opponents. - Form Name: Final Impulse
Image/ Description: It is a combination of both Light and Dark Forms except the two extensions at the back do not have the fabric and the helmet gets an additional horn upward. This form does away with the visor entirely.
Motif: Winged Paladin
Color Scheme: The gray portions turn violet and the respective colors of both forms is present on the extra armor. The eyes in this case is white in color.
Transformation: Final Impulse is the only form where Joel can transform into straight away but in doing so causes a strain on his body so its advisable to transform from Impulse Normal.
Fighting Style: It is similar to Impulse Normal but now with the addition of the Final Edge as a sword and the Final Arms as a range weapon.
Weapons: Final Edge, it is a pata style weapon materialized by using the Edge Memory on the right hand slot that appears with the armor. It also has another slot once it appears for the Light or Dark Memory. Final Arms, it is a gun weapon that materializes by using the Arms Memory on the left hand slot that appears with the armor. In the compartment for bullets, there is a slot for the Light or Dark Memory.
Abilities: Being the final form, it provides a boost to overall stats and has flight capabilities stemming with propulsion provided from the back extensions in the form of energy which looks like wings.
Finisher(s):
Light Impulse Cannon: Activated by inserting the Light Memory in the slot of the Final Arms. It is a giant beam attack.
Dark Impulse Gatling: Activated by inserting the Dark Memory in the slot of the Final Arms. It is a machine gun attack.
Flash Impulse Crusher: Activated by inserting the Light Memory in the slot of the Final Edge. Maximizing the flight ability, he brings the weapon down from the sky.
Shadow Impulse Slasher: Activated by inserting the Dark Memory in the slot of the Final Edge. Using the flight ability to strike from any direction, at the point of contact, five shadow blades will appear and strike from different directions.
Other Equipment:
- A motorcycle to get around
- A pair of sunglasses
History
Joel was born in New York to a Japanese father and American mother. As a child, Joel lived in a well to do family and had everything he wanted. Up to the age of 9 everything seemed like a dream. Then everything fell apart, his family fell to bankruptcy and debtors came knocking on the door. Unable to repay their debts, his parents tried to send him away to his uncle their only relative but on route, the car got into an accident and both his parents died. While in the hospital with minor injuries, Joel overheard his uncle's conversation the debtors. His uncle had been eying his family's fortune and caused the bankruptcy and accident. He also intended to sell Joel off for extra cash. Fearing for his life, Joel left the hospital in the night.
For 3 years, he lived on the streets, pickpocketing and getting into fights. If anything, his instinct to survive in the world taught him to be focused and flexible. One day, while he was pickpocketing as usual, he was caught red-handed by his latest victim who dragged him into a cold dark basement and threw him there instead of reporting to the authorities. There, the man stared at him and offered an ultimatum: Learn from him and live a whole new life or carry on his pathetic excuse of a life. The choice was pretty clear to Joel and he chose to have a chance at a new life.
He never got a chance to regret his decision however, as he was thrust into the life of a mercenary doing all sorts of life-threatening jobs and acquiring skills needed to survive. His ability to adapt and focus played a big part in helping him pull through. The man who took him in was harsh and strict but showed him enough concern that Joel began to see him as a new father and family. Something he had sorely missed in his life in the streets. At the age of 21, the man decided that Joel is ready to be independent to take his own jobs and referred him to some of his clients.
After that, the man left on a job and did not return for a long while. One day, Joel received a package with a note attached. On the note, it says that the package was for Joel if anything should happen to his teacher. Opening the package, it contained a Lost Driver and the Impulse Memory along with a card with a number on it. The note further says to contact the number whenever he was ready. Anxious to know what is going on, Joel called the number and was introduced to the Mysterious client who was a regular with his teacher. It seems the man has gone MIA during his latest job and had left instructions that Joel would take over him in such an event.
Meeting briefly with the client who made sure to keep his identity hidden, Joel learned of the existence of Gaia Memories and that his client is a collector of sorts and hires mercenaries to collect for him. Learning quickly that Dopants were not his regular human opponents, Joel used the driver to become Kamen Rider Impulse and began collecting for his client. After working for 3 years, his client decided that he is ready to finish up the assignment his teacher had been tasked with. He would be staying in Japan for a while as according to the client, it is a treasure trove of Gaia Memories and he wants his greedy little fingers on them.
Joel couldn't care less, all he was interested in is the money and finding out what happened to his teacher. Now 24, he heads to Japan in hopes of learning more.

Joel stared straight at the Dopant in front of him.
So this is the Commander Dopant...
Whipping out his Lost Driver and Impulse Memory, he clicked the Memory and he placed the Driver on his waist.
Impulse!!
"Henshin!"
Inserting the driver into the slot and flipping it to the side, his armor appears in a pulse of energy. He points his finger at the Dopant.
"Let's go, just you and me!"
Both he and the Dopant rush forth to face each other.
