"Of course there are." Alex muttered, finishing her water. "Morgan, toss me my guns, please. They should be behind the couch."
Morgan found the two guns and tossed them to her, pulling out his own shotgun. Alex pulled a box of shells out of the cupboard the coffeemaker was in earlier and loaded up, allowing Morgan to do the same.

Marion ignored it as she headed out and drew out her Wing Trigger, "Let's just Morph," she said to Simon.
"Of course," he said, "REVOLUTION, Engage!"
"REVOLUTION, Take Flight!"
The two transformed and headed out.

"I suppose transforming might be a better idea." Alex said, watching the two leave.
"Especially given your lack of clothing." Morgan commented.
"It feels surprisingly freeing to not wear pants. Anywho, let's go." Alex said, walking back over to the couch to retrieve her Cell Shifter while Morgan inserted his Engine Cell.
"REVOLUTION, engage!" Morgan yelled, hitting the lever and transforming and running outside.
"REVOLUTION, engage." Alex said, forgoing the poses and hitting the central button to trigger the transformation, then following Morgan out.

It wasn't too hard to find the Grinders. They had moved straight for the facility, as if they planned on launching an actual attack on the base.
"Let's do this quickly," Simon said, "Protect the base."

"Shouldn't be too hard." Morgan said as he ran right towards the Grinders wielding the Bridge Axe, taking out 5 with a single swing and 3 more on the follow-through.
"Rev Bullet!" Alex yelled, unleashing her small weapon which shot in and took out 5 Grinders before returning.

Simon used both of his firearms while Marion utilized her dagger and cut through them as quickly as she could with the assistance of fire.

Morgan cut a massive swath through the crowd, swinging and spinning with his huge double-bladed axe, while Alex had switched to using the Nitro Blaster sword mode and was hacking a decent number of Grinders to scrap.

Alex stopped for a moment, her face showing an expression of horror behind her visor.
"It's a distraction. Something big is happening somewhere else." Alex said, before resuming her attack. "But where else would Brigand attack?"

"I don't know, but the others will have to handle it," Simon said.
Then he heard something.
"Maybe it's not a distraction...," Marion said.

"What do you mean, not a distraction? This is a textbook distraction tactic." Morgan yelled while continuing to play lumberjack with the Grinders.

As they continued to fight through the wave of Grinders, the sound of rumbling got louder and louder, and soon they could see the truck approaching. |
