Overview: Takato is not exactly what you would call a conversationalist. He prefers to allows his actions to speak as opposed to his words, and has never really developed the skill of small talk. He tries not to forge relationships with anyone outside of the Order, as it would both compromise his work and make it hard if, say, someone he knew were to be stained with the blood of a Horror, to kill them. He will lay down his life to defend Rin and/or Jabi, however.

Abilities: He is very acrobatic, can see in the dark, and due to extensive training, can see through illusions. The sword is indestructible in both forms due to being forged of Soul Metal, and the armor is similarly indestructible, as it is forged of Soul Metal as well.
Finisher(s): Blazing Armament- He lights the Garoken using his Makai Lighter, and launches a fiery slash. The slash goes through the victim, arcs back around and GARO leaps into the air, absorbing the Madou Fire from the slash into his armor and setting it ablaze as well. He lands and launches another slash, with the two slashes forming a cross.

History

Takato's father, as tradition dictates, was the previous GARO. When he was a very young child, he would often play with an equally young Jabi, but when he turned 7, his father ended that practice and began teaching him to inherit the title of GARO. Takato dutifully attended his training, learning quite quickly. However, a year later, his father left in the night while Takato slept, to go fight a Horror. Unfortunately, it was a trap, and 10 Horrors ambushed his father and killed him. The next morning, Priest Amon arrived with Zaruba and the Garoken, explaining what had happened. Takato cried for weeks, until Amon told him it was no use crying. After that, Takato began training himself to take up the role.
When he was 15, he killed his first Horror. Also around that time, Jabi returned from Kantai. Amon took her in, completing her training. Both Takato and Jabi finished their respective training at 16, and Amon left them to their own devices. Jabi chose to stay with Takato, to help him in case he needed a Priestess's services, and also for other reasons she wasn't comfortable disclosing. He continued doing his job and doing it well, claiming his 100th Horror by 19 and passing the trial to earn the right to summon Gouten soon afterward. He visited Amon on the special night and played bar chess with the old man, not finishing the game before the sun rose. Two weeks afterward, Jabi found Amon murdered.
Takato simply chose to continue on, but Jabi found herself unable to and returned to Kantai for a time. Takato continued his duties, until about 3 years later, when he received a letter from Jabi that they needed men to defend Kantai against an attack. Takato journeyed there immediately, working with the local Priests, who had called him there because DAN, their resident Knight, was absent. He didn't mind, and led the defense. Many Priests died, including one Tsubasa Yamagatana, whose younger sister Rin had taken a shine to Jabi. Sensing that there was nothing left for her to do in Kantai, she left with Takato, but about halfway, discovered that Rin had tagged along for the ride. After a stern moment, Jabi agreed to be Rin's teacher is Tsubasa's "absence". They returned home, and life has been relatively normal for the past few years.

"Takato..." Jabi said threateningly.
"Jabi, I kill monsters from your darkest nightmares on a nightly basis. You don't scare me." Takato replied evenly.
Jabi looked like she wanted to say something, but paused.
"Check and mate. I win." Takato replied, pulling out his Lighter and burning the list in a flash of green fire.

Overview: Jabi is a strong, independent woman. She takes care of herself, and refuses to allow anyone to protect her, with the notable exception of Takato due to extraordinary circumstances. She does care deeply for both Rin and Takato, which is a bit uncharacteristic for her. She doesn't form bonds very easily, and her trust is incredibly difficult to earn.

History

Jabi never knew her parents, only that they were both Priests. She was raised in her young years in the Mitsu household, playing with young Takato before his father arranged for people from Kantai to bring her there for training to become a Priestess. She was taught by a variety of older women, but never really liked any of them. When she turned 15, she was given leave, and she vacated Kantai, returning to the Mitsu house to find Takato all grown up and Amon keeping an eye on him. Amon agreed to help finish her training, and she stayed, taking a year. She agreed to stay with Takato, because she had grown fairly fond of him. She helped him through the years, and when she discovered that Amon, her teacher, had been murdered, she grew angry. She left and went back to Kantai to cool her head.
While there, she met Rin Yamagatana, a young girl who was training to be a Makai Priestess. She immediately took a shine to the girl and asked to take over her training, her request being almost immediately granted. She began to train her, and did so for around 3 years until she and Tsubasa, Rin's older brother, detected a large Horror presence coming their way. Jabi sent for Takato, and he arrived within days. The resulting battle was bloody, and resulted in many deaths on both sides, including Tsubasa. Takato immediately took Jabi back to his house, but when they stopped to refuel, they found a rather familiar 10 year old girl hiding in the trunk. After a moment of deliberation, Jabi managed to convince Takato not to immediately turn around and drive her back to Kantai, explaining that she was her apprentice and that her brother had died in the battle. Takato relented, and they took her home with them legitimately.

Overview: Rin is your quintessential child, happy and carefree. She loves her life with Takato and Jabi, but misses Tsubasa on occasion. She is very inquisitive and brave, but does know when to turn and run, which is quite often.

History

Rin never knew her parents. Tsubasa told her they both died in a Horror attack. She was too young to care anyway. Living in Kantai and being the child of a Priest and Priestess, she was all but forced into the role of being a Priestess and began training when she was 6. She learned somewhat slowly until a year later, when Jabi showed up. Within weeks, she was training under the young woman, and showed marked improvements in her learning. Three years later, Takato showed up and the attack happened, leading to her brother dying.
When she learned that Takato was leaving with Jabi, without bringing Rin, she assumed she was just to be left at Kantai. Not approving of this one bit, she managed to hide in the trunk of their car. However, they stopped at a gas station, and Jabi wound up finding Rin in the trunk. Takato soon found out, but Jabi managed to convince him to allow her along. So Jabi bought her a snack and she went to live in the old Mitsu house, where she is nearly finished with her training as a Priestess under Jabi.
