Curses and Guns (Relic Hunters/Open)

[Tanya Murphy]

Tanya did the same as she returned to the building, showered, and put on some new clothes before going to Jack's home wondering what he had to say to her. When she arrived she was led to where Jack was, who was drinking tea, before being left there, "I'm here," she said, in a kind-of-obvious way.

"Good," he said, standing up and taking his suit coat off, "Come with me," he said, leading her on.

Now Tanya was more interested on where this was heading as she silently followed Jack.

He took her to his bedroom, closing the door behind them. He walked away from the door and kept his back to her, unbuttoning his shirt.

Tanya's eyes went wide open as she clapped her hand to her mouth, "Oh god...uhm...ah...what are you doing?" she asked averting her eyes from him while blushing furiously at the same time.

[Jack Drake]

"You probably know more about the Precious than the rest of us," he said, turning to her as he dropped his shirt, "What do you have to say about this?"

His chest had a slight lump coming out, as a teal-ish colored glow, like a jewel imbedded into him. Somewhat pulsing lines came running out from it, out over his torso, giving him a veiny, sickly look of sorts. They pulsed every so often, coming from the stone.

Despite her averting her gaze she couldn't help but notice the lump coming out of his chest, it was like in the Ironman movie where Tony had something stuck in him that kept him alive. Was Jack using a Precious to keep himself alive? As Tanya approached him carefully nearly missing the question. "Huh? Oh uh...well it looks...it looks like some sort of jewel that's keeping you alive, I mean there are literally hundreds of stories about magical jewels more famously the Philosopher Stone," she said as she looked up at him. "Don't tell me that is the Philosopher Stone," she said in disbelief believing that it was.

[Jack Drake]

"It's a Precious. I call it the 'Void Heart'," he said, "I don't know if that's the real name, though. I...how I got it isn't too important. But what it does is that it keeps me from being killed, for the most part. I just fear...I fear it's going to kill me."

[Tanya Murphy]

"Well...I'll have to research it, but...but I can't think off the top of my head about any jewels like this...it really is extraordinary," Tanya said a burning passion ignited in her as she lightly brushed the jewel for a moment, "what do you mean?" she asked quickly retracting her hand away, "You mean as it's eating away at your life force?"

[Jack Drake]

"I don't know. Maybe it's not doing anything to me, maybe it is. All I know is that this is new, and I don't like it. I have to assume it's doing something to me, but I have no proof to back that up."

[Tanya Murphy]

"Well...we can do tests on it, see what's its actually doing, that would mean medical tests and I'm no doctor so I don't know what to recommend, but to be honest I don't know what to say," Tanya said, "what do you mean it keeps you from getting killed for the most part?" she asked.

[Jack Drake]

"I've taken mortal wounds more than a few times," he told her, "And I've recovered. I don't die from a mortal wound. If someone wants to kill me, I imagine they have to kill me, and not leave me to die."

[Tanya Murphy]

"Right so decapitation, dismemberment etc.," Tanya said as she sighed and shrugged, "I don't know Jack, I really have no idea what I'm dealing with here...maybe it's best if you extract the Precious out of your body."

[Jack Drake]

"Fortunately I haven't tested that stuff," he said, "I was hoping you'd suggest that. I just don't know how."

[Tanya Murphy]

"Well I'm at a lost, I'll admit that, I'm at a lost how to test something like this," Tanya admitted, "medical tests would be a start to see what it's doing to you exactly."
