A VTOL typically refers to a type of jet that can take off vertically, doesn't it?

It does indeed, but it's not specifically a fighter jet. Like, it could be something like this (That's generally what I picture when I think VTOL) but it's not exactly a fighter jet. Although, I do like the idea of an Apache with a sound cannon. |
