Cécile sat and poked at her food. This wasn't for her job; this was just for a meal, and a cafe seemed like a good idea. Turned out it wasn't; this place wasn't good. Maybe it was because she was used to a higher standard? Or was it just a bad place?

She looked at the other girl, responding in English with her French accent, "Take it," she said.

Kira nodded before snatching the plate and sitting on the opposite side of the other girl.
"You know you shouldn't waste food. There are many starving people out there who would kill for your scraps."

"Good or bad, you should eat it. A man who has been stranded on an island for five years would taste this and call it paradise."
She took a bite and immediately spit it back out.
"Okay, it is bad."

"I don't think someone stranded on an island is going to be here," she said.

"Who knows?" Kira shrugged, "It's hard to tell a person's past with just a quick glance."

"Let's assume they're not."

"Let's take you for example," she pointed at Cecile, "You have lived an average life with absolutely nothing extraordinary happening to you whatsoever."

"That's wrong," she said, "But still. Shipwrecked on an island? What are those chances?"

"I made my point, didn't I? I can't tell your past just by looking at you. I'm no fortune teller."

"I think a lot of people have had issues in their pasts," she said.
