The monster stumbled back, and Michelle emerged from the room, keeping her Buster ready. Black energy began to accumulate around the monster's right hand.

Michelle stayed in the open, which was not the smartest choice to make. The energy accumulated into a larger version of one of the needles it had shot earlier, and it threw it at Michelle, catching her in the shoulder. Michelle stumbled back into the cover of the room with a cry of pain, as the needle seemed to absorb into her body.

"Yeah, I'll be fine. Just deal with that thing that hit me." Michelle said, undoin her transformation and marveling at the seeming lack of a physical wound.
The monster turned and ran.

It stumbled, one of its hands seeming to phase through some of the lockers before turning the corner and vanishing.
Michelle still sat, now contemplating the utter lack of further pain beyond the initial hit, before a wave of queasiness swept over her for a moment. She held her head, waiting for it to blow over.

The feeling was gone, just as quickly as it had arrived. Michelle stood on stable legs and walked out. "Where'd it go?" Michelle asked.
