Kate walked into the casino, dressed in her usual work attire. She wasn't used to being in Vegas, but there was work to be done. A Gate had been killed in NYC by something involving magic fire so she needed a bit of consultant help. Apparently Vegas was one of the biggest hotspots of Mages in the US.

Tristan was, of course, defying the casino tables again. Already, he'd racked up four-figure winnings, but he could always do better.
