Rei sighed. "Go ahead, then." she gave, indicating the things that needed to be packed, and packing them with his help. The two bags would once again rest on the floor, heavy again.

"Thank you, but you've done enough." Rei said softly. When he was out of the room, she penned a note to Tia...saying the following.
Tia,
I apologize for making you uncomfortable, and running you out of your house. You have a place you belong, please treasure it. I will always remember the little we shared...and while I'm going to stay on ATLANTIS, I'm not going to interfere anymore. Live, and enjoy your life. There may come a time for me where I can do the same
Let me just end with this....that what I told you...it wasn't a lie, it wasn't forced. I did like you...I did feel something for you. But forget about me. I'm sure you'll find someone that you'll be happy with.

Having finished the note, she put it under Tia's pillow, hoping she would find it there, and then shouldered the two bags....going outside and walking away.

"Thank you Aiden, but no. I can handle it." Rei said, forcing a small smile before walking away, able to carry the bags anyway. She'd go to another hotel, store the bags in the room, lock the room and then just wander to her heart's content.

He let her go.
Later, when Tia came home, she went to her room and found the note after some time. She opened it and read it over two times, before dropping it and crying a little.
"I'm so sorry," she whispered, "I wish I could have done more for you. I just don't want anything like that, not now."

Rei wandered along, finally making it to the hotel, checking in and booking the room. Then she went up, put a do not disturb sign on the door, walked inside, plopping the bags down as she locked the door, and threw off her things with a heavy sigh, the clothes making a trail to the bed, which she fell onto like dead weight. All of the traveling meant that she hadn't really been able to love, or be loved. Should she had just asked for Tia to be friends with her, or just shut up about her feelings? What were those feelings anyway, and why were they tormenting her now?
She sighed, a tear falling from her cheeks. All she'd wanted was to lay next to her that night. Nothing heavy would have happened, just a feeling of kinship...a feeling of being loved, expressed by the smallest of hugs, even. But as she drifted off to sleep...she muttered. "It's truly saddening, to be alone."
