Lamier looked at the ocean before admitting that Jayce was right, "Fine," she said sharply before taking his arm and leading him deeper into the island, "we'll wait out until the storm's gone then we'll go look for my brother."

"I doubt he's here. It's not like we were fighting here," he told her, feeling the vines by moving his wrists, feeling the strength.

"Well whatever," she snapped, "I'll take you to him. Or he'll find me, either way I'm going to make sure you see him."

He shook his head, "I doubt it."
He tripped and fell facefirst into the sand.

Lamier saw him trip and scoffed, "Yeah right..." she said before pulling him up, "just watch your step."

He rolled over when she helped him up. He had a small rock in hand, keeping that hidden.

He kept going with her, finding a rough enough side with a finger and lying it against the vine, slowly sawing, enough so as not to draw attention to what he was doing.

After helping him out she turned and gestured for him to follow, "I really don't know why I don't just kill him now," she whispered to herself.

She continued to go deeper into the jungle, unaware of what was going on behind her though she did check now and again to see if Jayce was still following her.

He felt like he was making progress. Every so often he pulled on his wrists to check the progress. It was working well enough. He looked around a little, making sure it wouldn't be overly noticeable. He just had to wait a little longer.
