Group Name: Project: ATLANTIS
Objective: Establish a new civilization for the people of Earth to fight overcrowding and create a new attempt at utopia
Alignment: Good
History: Several members of the United Nations sought out solutions to various problems that the world was facing. Overcrowding, monster attacks, and the like. Some got behind the idea of Planet Spes, but others wanted to remain Earthbound. They each had people from their countries look into a project, which was dubbed "ATLANTIS", and resources were pooled.
The UN didn't officially recognize it, thus causing those involved to be ignored. The diplomats who initially supported the project dropped all support, at least to the UN. But they wanted this project to succeed. Work on this artificial landmass began between South America and Africa, to the south, more towards Africa. It was large enough to house several thousand, and was able to grow food and hold life thanks to the development.
It began to take shape like any normal landmass. Some people wouldn't be able to tell it was a fake landmass if they weren't told. And so people began to be moved, to help with growing populations, and to go to this safe haven, which wasn't recognized by any official governments, meaning they were on their own, and without a military.
However, things went bad. Machines that were being used to help in the construction and management of the civilization were then taken control of by a virus. The AI that had helped in the running and creation of ATLANTIS was infected, and took command of the machines, making them into warriors. Stuck on this landmass, it began to terrorize the citizens, attempting to take control of the people.
To combat this threat, another project was put online. One scientist from America with Russian backing had come to ATLANTIS. Using bio-armor with electron skinned armor to allow for defense and regenerative attributes, this project was placed online in order to combat the machine threat. No other country would come to their aid. ATLANTIS was a lost cause.
But as Project: REVOLUTION was placed online, and seven suits were made, along with animal/vehicle hybrids as mecha, a new threat became apparent. Another machine threat came into play, and with them a threat from the Earth as well; organic threats, disturbed by the creation of the landmass. Unable to contend with all of the forces at play on ATLANTIS, another creation was put into play. Using ancient runes, a team to harness the elements was put into play in order to help with the fight, codenamed Project: NEXT.
REVOLUTION and NEXT are currently fighting the various threats posed to ATLANTIS.
