I'm going to be honest. I don't have the capabilities of writing a speech-like narrative on philosophy like this.

(Who said anything about a speech? 'You could simply say 'He gave his speech, talking about a minute and once he was done, the class applauded.' =P)

They entered the auditorium and Gen and Inga waited for Katsu to talk to the students.

Ah, thought you were expecting at least like a paragraph.
When the speech was over, Haru left the stage and went back to the lounge to retrieve his notes. He wasn't sure if it was appreciated, or if the students got anything out of it, but he hoped they had.

Students applauded and it was Gentaro to talk. He finished at the students once again applauded. He and Inga later went back to the lounge, with Gentaro complimenting. "Nice speech, Mr. Katsu. One would say it would be...how to put it....philosophical and wise. "

He just nodded, "Thank you," he said, still feeling a bit strange about having to talk to others about philosophy like this. It's not how he cared to do things. "Are you free?" he asked either of them.
