~Okay! Here we go!~ Cross
There was a cry of panic from some way down the mine shaft. Roger briefly looked up and then swallowed a little. "Hello?" He called down, taking a few lingering steps forward into the mine.
It wasn't how he'd imagined it would be after he started work there. It was all metal and floodlights with personal safety alarms on everyone's belt. That last thought, and the bright white light illuminating the mine made Roger feel a little better. He put his hands and the alarm and took another step into the mine. It was quiet.
Really quiet. Probably just his imagination. He chuckled to himself and started back to where he was. And that was when all the lights went out. He stopped dead in his tracks and blinked quickly. There was a cracking noise behind him preceded by the sound of rending metal.
Roger span behind him but saw nothing in the blackness. All he felt was a burning pain in his chest. And then Roger Collins was gone. ---
At the same time Arthur Ingram stood in the middle of Coalfield park and checked his map.
He was lost again wasn't he? He still had about two hours left before he needed to get to the building but still ... it was irritating to say the least.

"Did you feel that?" Clive asked as Luna nodded, the two of them were in Coalfield university right now attempting to track down the source of some mysterious magical powers, ones that Clive had never felt before. Disturbingly he had also read reports of people vanishing without a trace making him wonder if some dark forces is at work here.
"It was brief, but now it's gone," Luna confirmed as Clive sigh. At the rate they were going they weren't going to find any evidence, or hint, of what is going on around the campus and if anything he hated when it was the innocent people that were being caught in the crossfire.
"We'll just have to keep looking, I nearly locked onto it before it disappeared," Clive said as the two of them continued to walk around the campus ignoring the stares they were getting due to their strange dress code.

Arthur paused a little and groaned. What was that ... that noise?
No not a noise, more of a feeling. Like a really bad feeling of no not even a feeling more like ...
What the Hell was it!? It was like an entire sensory assault, his mind, body and soul felt sick and every nerve in his body was burning. He released a strangled cry and then closed his eyes tightly and staggered into someone. ---
Meanwhile in the mines the lights came on, there was a sigh of relief and Roger Collins cracked his knuckles. Took two tentative steps forward, as if he wasn't sure how to walk and then strolled out of the mine whistling.
Which was unusual because Roger Collins didn't know how to whistle ...

The feeling was getting stronger, it was somewhere here definitely, but Clive couldn't pinpoint exactly where it was, "Bollocks," he cursed softly.

Arthur felt himself about to explode!
Instinctively he pulled out the Sonnet Driver and then paused.
The feeling was starting to go. His head was returning to normal again.
Nonetheless he looked around warily

"Do you think we can get something to eat first?" Luna asked.
"Sure, might as well while we're here," he said as he went towards the school cafeteria.

Arthur slowly walked into the cafeteria, still wondering what was wrong and then sat down.

After getting their food they sat down next to Arthur as they began to discuss the situation around the campus and the strange feeling that Clive had been feeling.

Arthur paused and raised his head from the table and tried to listen in on their conversation.

"There has to be some way of tracking the energy signature," Luna said as she nibbled on her sandwich.
"I've been trying, but whenever I get a lock on it, it suddenly vanishes, it's like trying to catch a rat who knows all the sewer entrances," Clive said in a frustrated tone.

Arthur looked up and frowned, what were they talking about? Energy signature? He was sure that he'd never seen them before.
"Scuze me?" He said, groggily "Do you two go here?"

Clive and Luna's head snapped up as Clive looked at Arthur, "Uh...no not really," Clive replied, "we're just visiting the place, you know trying to see if it's any good or not. Might consider applying here next year."

"What courses?" He asked, still sounding half-asleep.

"Classical literature, anthropology and...music," Clive said as Luna rolled her eyes, he was just listing what he liked though she was sure those three would be courses in a university.

Arthur paused, that seemed like it might be right but then again there was something odd about them ... "So why were you mentionin-" ---
The body that had been Roger Collins strolled into the city centre and walked into the Coalfield University library. Roger Collins had never gone into the library, he didn't have access, but somehow he managed to breeze through the gate.
He paused and then walked up the stairs towards the top floor. The "Old books" section ...
--- "-g energy signatu-" Arthur trailed off and closed his eyes, another headache hit him like a tonne of bricks and he slumped to the table groaning.
