Overview: Mavis is a child at heart. She loves to swing on swings and slide down slides. She loves candy and stuffed animals and using her imagination. But she can get deadly serious when the situation arises (in court and or in battle). She hates law breakers and nerdowells with a passion. She wants to create a shining utopia where everyone follows the rules and treat each other with respect.

Mavis will always follow the law, no matter what it says - no matter where she is. If the law is too smack every little old lady you see and take any change out of the wishing well you want - then she'll follow it to a T. She'll try to stop others from breaking the established walls, but won't go as far as vigilantism. She has a hard time saying to no to people so I'll often do odd jobs for various people in need when she's not in court.

History

Little is known about Mavis' life before Gladys Lovegood discovered in a certain lab belonging to some unknown diabolical organization. That's a good five or so years unknown to either of them. Mavis awoke in that lab to sight of Gladys and immediately felt this person was someone special to her. After that event, Gladys adopted little Mavis and the two moved to New York City.

As Mavis grew, Gladys took it upon herself to train her body and mind in various forms of martial arts. Her mother told her she wanted Mavis to be safe when she's not around and to be able to protect herself from bad people. Mavis grew to really hate violence, but did not tell her mother in fear of upsetting her.

One day when Mavis was in elementary school, Mavis and her friend, Tasha, were walking home. They were attacked by a brutal mugger. Mavis tried to fend him off, but was stabbed in the gut. She woke up the next day in the hospital to her mother's tears of anguish.

A few years later, in middle school, she was stabbed again while trying to protect a young woman from a pair of horny ruffians. She hated that people like them and the mugger were allowed to roam the streets and do whatever the hell they felt like. Mavis then decided to become a lawyer to help bring criminals to justice and keep the streets safe for kids like her.

After graduating high school, she was accepted to Harvard University to study law. She met an aspiring defense lawyer named Marcus Williams and the two fell in love. They got married at a young age and before they knew it - Mavis was pregnant. Nine moths later, Mavis gave birth to healthy baby girl, they named Mercy.

Mavis didn't get to be with her baby long. While the baby was being cared for in the maternity ward, unknown person(s) of unknown intent kidnapped her baby, killing two nurses in the process. The news was so traumatizing to Mavis that all her memories of both the baby and her being pregnant vanished.

She carried on in life, unaware of her missing child - as family and friends kept it a secret from her so she wouldn't become depressed. She eventually graduated from Harvard and joined an established firm in New York. This was before her husbands' crimes were revealed and she herself became the prosecuting attorney in his case.

Sample RP: Mavis is relaxing on the park bench after a long day at court. A murder trial had been going to for the past six months and Mavis wishes they would just hurry up and put the man behind bars already.

Thud. A strange noise occurs several steps behind her. She stands up and steps over the park bench. She scratches her head.

"What's this?"

She lifts up a strange rectangular object and closely examines it.

"I better turn this into the lost and found."

She is about to run off when she notices a second object - letter. She picks it up. It's addressed "Mavis." She opens it up and reads: "A present from me to you. Find the dragon, he'll know what to do."

Mavis couldn't make heads or tails of it so she drops it into her briefcase and hurries home.
