Ayumi smiled as the conversation went to other matters, when the school bell rang Ayumi went to the designated point as she waited for Kaori to arrive.

On the other side of the school......a window opened and Kaori crept out. She liked leaving the school this way - even though many teachers have scowled her for it. They keep saying "normal" people use doors. Kaori didn't want to be "normal" - she wanted to be Kaori!
She hides behind a nearby bush when she hears two giggling girls approaching from around the corner.
"Did you see the look on Tsubasa's face this morning when she discovered that love letter we sent her was a fake?" laughs one girl, "Classic!"
"She falls for it every time," laughs the other girl, "Geez when will she get a clue? This school's no place for a freaky lesbo like her!"
The two girls share one more laugh before walking off - leaving Kaori alone in the bush, crying.

Ayumi felt another wave of sadness come wash over her again, there could only be one person who could be feeling this sad, Ayumi didn't sigh or felt annoyed. She only felt pity for Kaori for having to feel this way every day, Ayumi easily tracked Kaori down hiding behind a bush as she knelt next to her and hugged her tightly, "What happened this time?" she asked softly.

"Oh Ayumi!" Kaori cries as she returns the hug, "It was those horrible girls again! It's always them! Or girls like them! Why won't they just leave me alone?"

"There, there," Ayumi said patting Kaori, "just try to ignore them, they only say that because they can't accept your difference. You should be proud that you're unique, it makes you very special," she said as she wiped the tears from Kaori's face, "now how about we go to the temple as we planned? I'll make sure to make it more amazing then I planned."

"Of course, I can't wait to see the festival myself," Ayumi said as she led Kaori to her home as they quickly passed through the familiar streets before arriving at the shrine. The festival was well underway as there were lots of people there, and plenty of stalls that sold food, hosted games, and many other things, as Ayumi grinned remembering when she was a little girl and how much festivals like these pleased her.

Ayumi giggled as she dragged Kaori to one of her favorite games, "I think you'll remember this game, it's the one where you have to catch a fish with those flimsy nets, I used to fail all the time till I just gave up, but maybe you can catch one if you're lucky," Ayumi said handing the net to Kaori.
