Overview: Skylar is very "unique" individual. She's so obsessed with finding alien life, that she acts very alien. This has ostracized her from much of the Spes scientific community, but she is indeed brilliant and gifted. She cares deeply for Cameron and even considers herself his mother (even though she's younger than him) - a very overprotective, over-endearing mother at that.

History
Skylar Norton had a very interesting, atypical childhood growing up in a small Irish village. She had neither a mother nor a father - she was a clone grown in a tank in an underground laboratory. She never learned who she was exactly a clone. of. From an earlier age, she was told she was gifted. The scientists in charge of the facility would often run all manner of innovative tests on her. She would always pass with flying colors. She was often told by them that she would grow up to do great things.
This all changed when another experiment went wild and tore up the facility. It left little Skylar as the sole survivor. The experiment was a man. After slaughtering the entire staff, he sat in Skylar's room and watched her build complex structures with blocks. He called himself "Harmony." He told he was an artificial human, much like herself, and was created from scratch by the scientists in this facility. He had grown tired of the all poking and prodding and experimentation so he decided to break free and slaughter the lot. He sparred Skylar since she was similar to him.
The two traveled the world together for some time after that, but one day Harmony vanished and left Skylar all alone in the world. She tried to find other homes, some other place she felt she belonged, but couldn't - not on this world anyway. She snuck aboard the very first shuttle of settlers to the human colony on Spes. She was eventually found, but wooed their science team with the brilliant mind she possessed since her creation.
After spending a few years on Spes as a scientist, she met a man named Cameron Hale. He had just lost his parents and this made Skylar sad. She had lost her parent too - he had just vanished one day and had never said goodbye. She, despite being significantly younger than him, took him and became his "mother." Sometime afterwards she and the rest of the Spes science team completed the Sirenger gear - having made the special prototype Swan Bade especially for herself.
