Ever since arriving at headquarters, John had been under scrutiny. Did they suspect something about his true nature? Or did they think he was something else completely? He couldn't tell. Humans were an unpredictable and wily lot. Even now, as he sat alone in hq, he couldn't help but feel an air of mistrust.
