Inner Stuff
Likes:
- Listening to music (not necessarily the band's, looking for inspiration)
- Playing video games on the Tour Buster.
- Generally kicking back when not performing, or fighting.
Dislikes:
- Sour food.
- Getting hassled by crowds for autographs. One or two people is okay.
- Music that's out of tune.
Strengths:
- Good leadership ability.
- Provides a natural energy onstage, to fans and the band.
- Has some actual combat experience.
Weaknesses:
- Not a big fan of being in the MIDDLE of crowds. In front of them's fine. In them is not.
- Tends to lead the charge into combat.
- Not a very defensive fighter.
Goal(s):
- Like any rockstar, be famous!
- Unlike most rockstars, save the world from Dischords!
Habits/ Quirks:
- Tends to hum what he's listening to, or a song he's working on, to himself.
Relationships:
- Alfred - A Mentor of sorts, as well as his band's manager.
- Ruby, his RO-D, who sometimes serves as a confidant when he doesn't want to spill to other people.
- The other Rockrangers - friends, hell, they're his family.
Overview:
While he comes across as lazy initially, Eric is actually a very active leader when times call for it, and he's always willing to put himself in harm's way to help his teammates.
Hero Stuff
Name: Rockranger Red
Type Of Hero: Sentai (Rockrangers)
Henshin Device: Rock Jammer, a device worn on his left arm that resembles his instrument of choice, in his case, a microphone.
Henshin Sequence: After the Jammer appears on his left arm, he holds it up, then brings the microphone to his mouth, and says "Let's Jam! Rockranger Red!". He's then engulfed in red light, as soundwaves ripple from his head, before the visor of his helmet appears. He then rests his hand over his ears, as if holding on headphones, as the modules on the sides of his helmet appear, and then the rest of his helmet forms, and with a flash, so does the rest of his suit.
Forms:
- Form Name: Rockranger Red
Image/ Description: Wears a red helmet, with a round, black visor that has white markings that make it resemble a speaker, sitting above a silver mouthplate. The sides of the helmet have headphone-like modules, along with a "crest, that arcs across the back of the helmet like the band on that same set of headphones. There's a white band around the visor, on the front edge of the "headphones," and along the middle of the crest across the back of the helmet.
His suit is also mainly red, composed of a material that resembles leather. The top is a red, zipped up (and actually armored) jacket, with a set of white stripes going from above his left hip, to over his right shoulder, resembling a musical bar that lacks notes. the shoulders of this jacket are white, leading down the sleeves in white stripes to slim red bracers with black straps. His gloves, which are black, appear fingerless, except the fingers are in red leather.
His pants are a darker shade of red, with a white going down from his hips to the red and black accented boots his pants are tucked into.
Motif: Red, music.
Color Scheme: Red, with primarily white accenting, and a few spots of black.
Transformation: Se Henshin Sequence
Fighting Style: His style almost appears to be dancing, and he uses his MicSaber in conjunction with its sheath to be a whirling dervish of enemy doom.
Weapons: MicSaber- when sheathed, this weapon looks like a stylized old model microphone with a three foot stand that ends in a point, with a grip just below the mic. In actually, this weapon actually functions as a shortsword, that he dual wields with its sheath as a guarding weapon.
Beat Blaster/Blade - The standard sidearm of the Rockrangers, the B-B is a sleek, black laser blaster that can be converted into an energy saber with only a flick of the firing assembly to line up with the handle of the blaster.
Abilities: Along with enhanced speed and strength, Rockranger Red can call on his RO-D, Ruby, to help him Up-Tempo, accelerating him to the speed he needs to keep up with and destroy Dischords. His sonic attacks are also more suited to blasting targets directly in front of him as he uses the MicSaber as, well, a microphone to enhance a yell.
Finisher(s):
Sonic Cascade - Can only be performed with the rest of his team. The group gathers up in front of the enemy... and to put it in its simplest terms, rocks out, the combined sonic power usually proving to be enough to destroy most enemies.
Mecha Name: Tour Buster (Shared with the other Rockrangers.)
Type Of Mecha: Transport/Megazord
Image/ Description: A large, five section segmented tour bus, mainly black with white accents. each of its sections are actually a little bigger than a normal bus should be.
Motif: Tour Bus
Abilities: Can transform into the Tour Buster Megazord, the first car serving as the chest and head, the second serving as the lower torso and waist, the third serving as the arms, and the fourth and fifth serving as the legs. It fights using powerful speakers mounted in its shoulders,as well as using a large weapon of a similar type as the Ranger currently commanding the Megazord, with a finisher utilizing that weapon. In Eric's case, its finisher is the Sonic Cross, where it uses the sheath and its MicSaber to charge the enemy at VERY high speed, striking once with the sheath on its first pass, then the sword on the second, then leaping into the air, and perform a sound barrier-breaking cross slash shockwave.
Megazord Component: It IS the Megazord.
Mecha Name: Rose Axle
Type Of Mecha: Rock Runner, part of the Offbeat Megazord.
Image/ Description: The Rose Axle is essentially a Zord-sized red sports car with a long front end, in order to hide the pair of powerful, retractable sonic cannons hidden on either side of the "hood".
Motif: Speed, sound
Abilities: The Rose Axel is incredibly fast, and uses its Sonic Cannons for hit and run tactics, until it forms part of the Offbeat Megazord.
Megazord Component: The chest, back, and head of the Offbeat Megazord
Mecha Name: Ruby
Type Of Mecha: Robotic Operations Deputy, or RO-D
Image/ Description: Ruby is a small. red, mechanical western dragon with a female personality, who looks at Eric like a younger brother.
Motif: Transformer, Dragon
Abilities: Ruby can transform into a humanoid female robot about four and a half feet tall, as well as create sonic blasts in dragon form. She's required in order to Up-Tempo, or summon and control the Rose Axle.
Megazord Component: None. Too small. She DOES run the lights for the band's shows, though.
Other Equipment:
- Smartphone
- Swiss army knife
History
Some people are born to greatness, and some have it thrust upon them. And some, like Eric, have it fall into their lap. Until answering a callout to join a band (a decision that would change his life), he was a bit of an unknown, trying his hand at singing where he could, but his bands never lasted long, other members flaking out within a few weeks.
So, finally, as he was debating giving up the whole "trying to be a musician" thing, he learned about tryouts for a band, at the time unnamed.
So, why not? He went.
And quite simply, no other vocalists did, giving him the job by default. The rest, as they say, is history.
Okay, okay, here's the rest. He joined the band Running Offbeat as a backup vocalist. He was a pretty good dancer, too, but there wasn't much need for that. The problem began when fans started responding to the new member of the band.
His popularity didn't sit well with the LEAD singer of the band, David Robert Jones, who finally, in a fit, left the group. They don't like going into specifics of what happened. But as a result, he took over as lead vocalist, and the band's gone on since then.
