The Ship of Life (Open)

[Denji Kurube]

It started rather surreptitiously, a simple shadow passing over the land. If one looked up, however, they would see not a cloud, but a massive ship, floating over the Sea of China. A huge cruiser, shining white, with a ring orbiting at about the middle. A single projectile fired out, twinkling in the morning sun, and appeared to contact somewhere in downtown Tokyo, sending up a large dust cloud.

[Rai Kamioka]

Rai ran as fast as he could. His body was wearing on him, but he had to hurry. He pushed himself as hard as he could. He looked in the distance, at the giant ship. He'd get to that, but whatever was launched came first.

[Ran Aikata]

The object was beginning to draw a crowd. It was about the same general shape as an old-timey torpedo, but white and sleek, much like the ship that had launched it. It also appeared to have some sort of computer console built into it.
Ran was in the crowd, trying to figure out what it was.

[Rai Kamioka]

Rai moved through the crowd, pushing people away. He had his gun in his shirt, so if something emerged he could at least keep it at bay until he could get his armor.

[Ran Aikata]

He shoved Ran aside, and she fell over.
"Hey! What was that all about?" Ran yelled indignantly, following Rai.

[Rai Kamioka]

"I'm sorry," he said, having reached down to help her at least, but he said nothing more as he kept going.

[Ran Aikata]

Ran continued to follow him into the center of the crowd, where the object waited. When Rai got within a certain distance, a small panel popped open, revealing a screen about the size of your average computer monitor.

[Rai Kamioka]

He drew his communicator, "Ulgues, any ideas on this thing?"

"We're working on it."

[Ran Aikata]

"Hello, Gavan. My master and I have been expecting you." A ethereal voice that sounded vaguely female echoed from the object as the screen flickered to life, revealing a face.

[Rai Kamioka]

"You know who I am?" Rai questioned, leaving his com system up for his Commander.

[Ran Aikata]

"Indeed. I am WIL, and I control the systems of the Sanctum. My master sends his humble regards and apologies." WIL replied.

[Rai Kamioka]

"We don't have anything," the Commander said.

"Explain yourself," Rai told WIL, "What is this "Sanctum"? Who is your master?"

[Ran Aikata]

"Sanctum is the vessel dominating your skies, and my master is a great man on a glorious mission who has chosen not to reveal himself presently. He has sent me to be his herald, to announce his plans to this insignificant world." WIL replied, with a hint of disdain in her voice.
Ran simply watched.

[Rai Kamioka]

"And what does your master desire from this world?" Rai demanded. Dol was being readied by Ulgues in space.

[Ran Aikata]

"My master wishes to cleanse this universe, establish a perfect race on every planet in the galaxy. In order to do this, he must have samples. Those who do not fuel his research shall be obliterated. And your puny dragon cannot stop us." WIL replied.
