Overview: Most people picture horror movie fans as gothic loners; Laurie is the complete opposite of that. She loves being around people, and one of her strengths is that she has the gift of gab. When she is on the job she will often geek out about one or more aspects of a kill. This can be a gift and a curse; a minor clue could lead her to the Demon or down a dead end in Guatemala with a chimpanzee. She is easy to get along with, and if you get her talking she’ll never stop. Laurie has always been a little tough when she needs be. She’s convinced that she would be the Final Girl if life was a horror movie. Laurie can be a bit obsessive about things (yes, shockingly) and seems to think that if something is worth doing it’s worth overdoing.

Henshin Device: The Scream Camera, a wrist brace that resembles a film projector worn on the left arm.
Henshin Sequence: Laurie presses the button on her Scream Camera and extends her arm, shouting “Action, Red!”. Usually she does this by crossing her arms to press the button and firing a finger gun when she extends her arm to transform. A stream of red light projects backwards at her from the Scream Camera and her suit is formed from film that wraps around her. As the transformation ends she raises her left arm in front of her as if she was holding a knife and declares “Red Slasher!” She’s still trying to figure out a role call.
Forms:

• Form Name: Red Slasher
  Image/ Description: The suit is mostly red with gray film cuffs on the gloves and boots. Likewise there is a belt that resembles film with a film canister buckle that holds her Blockbuster. There seems to be no such holster or sheath for the Fear Blade, but it would be on her back if it were. The top half of the suit is a red jacket while the bottom is a pair of black pants. As the suit was intended for a man, there is no skirt on it. The back of the jacket has a silhouetted wolf howling at an unseen moon on it, with a smaller version of the design on her lapel. The boots and gloves are red. Her helmet resembles a wolf’s head, with the glass of the visor being in the mouth. The left half of the visor is red and the right is cyan, like a pair of anaglyph 3D glasses. The helmet has blue eyes on the wolf head, and ears sticking out of the top. The mouthplate of the helmet is defined by a black line around the red mouthplate.

  Fighting Style: Laurie likes knives. She is good with her Fear Saber, and always uses it in conjunction with her Blockbuster Slasher Mode as an off-hand.

  Samhain Slash: Laurie takes her flame covered Blockbuster Slasher Mode and stabs the enemy with it. This attack only works as a team.

History

Laurie has had a relatively uneventful life. She was born to a teenage mother, who gave her up for adoption. She was adopted by Sidney Craven after a few months. She was named Lucy after Sidney’s dead mother, with Lauren as a throwaway middle name. Sidney did the best she could raising Lucy, but at the same time she had to start up and maintain the fledgling HMAA.

Lucy’s obsession with horror movies started when she was young. It all started on Halloween 2001, when Lucy was five. Her babysitter left Laurie alone with the remote control to do “grown up stuff” with a guy named Josh, assuming that Lucy would just entertain herself with Cartoon Network. However, little Lucy stepped on the remote and put it a channel that was showing Halloween. Little Lucy was scared out of her mind and loved every second of it. And from then on, her addiction grew. Every time they went to Blockbuster Lucy always picked out something scary. As she grew up Sidney started calling her Laurie on occasion and the name stuck.

Laurie knew firsthand about the fight against Demons, so when she heard about the first team failed, she decided that she would be perfect to take out the demons, so she stole a Scream Camera. She fought off a demon that attacked Sidney. After this, Sidney grudgingly allowed Laurie to be Red Slasher.

Sample RP: Laurie walked into the mall, shades on her face and her hands in her pockets. She walked into the taped off food court, noting that the attacks must have been multiple. She walked up to two guys in suits that were looking over the body. One saw her, a look of annoyance on her face.

“Get out of here kid” he called over.

“No can do Sarge” Laurie said, walking closer. The two were standing in a way so that she couldn’t see the body, but it was pouring with traces of Demon magics. She was in the right place. “I’m the expert you called in.”

The detective tilted his head in disbelief and furrowed his brow. “No you’re not.” He chuckled. “You don’t wanna see thi-” The detective stopped talking when Laurie rolled up her sleeve.

“It’s my job” Laurie said with a smile. “So, someone called in that a guy had been killed by a midget on a pogo stick?”

The detective was clearly getting annoyed. “No one said that.”

“Actually Williams that would explain these wounds” the other detective pointed out. “How did you know that?”

“Leprechaun” Laurie said. “The title character knocks a guy on the ground and bounces up and down on his sternum. It was actually pretty creative.”
