History
Derek doesn't talk a lot about his past. Hell, he rarely talks much about himself, and when he does, the story is rarely told the same twice. Sometimes his dad was in the military, and died on a tour of duty, leaving him and his mother to fend for themselves till she commited suicide. Sometimes his parents were drunkards and druggies, and he ran away from home while they killed themselves slowly. Sometimes, HE was the problem, and was sent away to learn better, only to run off.
But the truth is? He was orphaned young because of the first time he ever performed a summon. In his living room. All he remembered was fire, and screaming, and when the fire department arrived, he was outside, and his home... an incinerated crater. He was ten.
He spend the next eight years in the system, floating from foster home to foster home, no one willing to adopt him permanently, and he developed a remarkable knack for lying, until it came to him naturally.
And the times he was alone? He practiced, learning what he could do, developing a small "stable" of creatures he could call on, but none felt like that one that he'd called when his home was destroyed. This was how he met Efreet, who swore to watch over him.
Then, when he turned 18, he left, finding his own way in the world, making enough money to afford to live with street magic shows, using some... help from his summons for special effects, as well as some slight of hand to pick up... extra funds.
And all the while, he has no idea that the monster he summoned as a child, is one that a particular group has been searching for for a very long time...
OOC Stuff
Anything Else:
OOC Name: yoolee
Name Color #FF8C00
Number Of Stars 1
Color Of Stars Red
Sample RP:
"Step right up, and be amazed! Inflagon the Fantastic will shock and amaze!" The man called, snapping his fingers as a Will-O-Wisp popped into existence next to his hand, and then let off a cloud of sparks before he dismissed it.
His little acts of showmanship were enough to draw a crowd, but the real monet came as he moved through it, people unknowingly losing little things. A watch, maybe, or a necklace that looked to be valuable. Regardless, no one ever really noticed until he was long gone.
And that was just the way Derek liked it.
