Overview: Jean Havoc seems like a calm, cool collective man - but that's usually just on camera. In reality, he's the man with the worst luck in world (probably the universe). A typical day for him is to lose the lottery, get rejected (multiple times), get his dry-cleaning splashed with mud, and get injured in some (comical) way. He tends not to make any friends in fear of his curse screwing them over as well. Even with his horrible bad luck, he never gives up in anything he sets out to do - be it finding his next big scoop or stopping a purse snatcher.

History

Jean was born in the city of Bordeaux in France. His mother was a maker (and drinker) of fine wine and his father an adventurous archeologist. His mother was often far too drunk to watch little Jean so his father was forced to take him along on his expeditions to foreign lands. Even when faced with dangerous obstacles, his father never gave up and Jean always tries to follow his example.

When he was eight, he discovered his curse. He and his father were excavating a tomb in Egypt when he accidentally set off a booby trap. The ceiling collapsed and before it squashed Jean like a pancake - his father pushed him out of the way only to get his right leg crushed in return. From that day onward, Jean's luck has fluctuated from bad to really bad to really really really bad.

When Jean was fourteen, his family moved to the United States. That was where Jean discovered his dream of becoming a television reporter and uncovering the hard facts - not unlike the job of an archeologist. His handicapped father took a cushy job as the curator at local history museum before eventually becoming its director as well.

He started an internship for Action World News before eventually landing a job as an actual reporter. Though he still has his tremendous bad luck, he somehow hasn't been fired from his job despite the many, many mishaps (it helps that his boss is pretty eccentric and is amused by Jean's antics).

"This is Jean Havoc for Action World News signing off!" he did a salute as his cameraman gave him the thumbs up.

He sighed, "I can't believe this what my life has been reduced to...."

He looked up at the supposed news breaking story he had just reported on - a cat stuck in a tree.

"When i took this job i thought it'd be more like hard hitting interviews with notorious serial killers and daring acts of heroism - not cats in distress!"

It meowed at him and he sighed again.

"Well i can't just leave you up there...."

He began his climb up the tree only for the cat to jump right onto his face and start scratching like it was possessed by a bloodthirsty demon.

The searing pain caused him to lose his grip and fall flat on his cameraman.

"I know, i know," said Jean trying his best to pry the cat's claws from his flesh, "You quit right? Third one this week...."
