There was a Shrine here, somewhere, and Riley was sent to watch over it. The beings knew when something was going wrong, when a Shrine was endangered. So the knew where to send their warriors.
For now Riley didn't quite know what to do, so she wasn't at the Shrine, per say. She was nearby, in town. She figured that was good enough for her.

It's not an actual shrine, it's a mystical location that's more like that it can be anywhere, like a street corner, that has a mystical property.

As she walked around, she stopped at the small park, which was the Shrine location. It was fine, so she kept going.
What was the point of this? Was something going to happen?
