Ian checked his Morpher. They were getting close it seemed.

"We are getting close. Due to the nature of the item, expect a test of battle." Yao said.

Yao and Ian emerged into a clearing, with a shallow cave with a sword in a pedestal. Yao went on high alert, pulling out his bow. "Something is wrong."

He lifted his Morpher, taking a reading to see if this was it, or if it wasn't.

"Reaper said you'd come, like a moth to a light." A voice said, it's owner emerging from the woods. He was immediately flanked by 8 men in full tactical gear, balaclavas and assault rifles, all aimed at Yao and Ian. Yao drew his bow, aiming it at the speaker. "The Mercenary never travels alone. Where is your companion?" Yao asked. "The Sniper is elsewhere." The Mercenary stated. Yao's eyes widened with a mix of fear and surprise. "Hello, Laurel." An all too familiar voice said, snapping Laurel out of her trance. Her eyes flew open, revealing a man wearing a tight-fitting mask, covering his entire head except for his mouth, nose and eyes standing in front of her, rifle slung across his shoulder and a device strapped over his left eye. "Oliver..." Laurel said, eyes widening in fear.

Ian gripped his Morpher, ready to transform. He remained silent, scanning the men around them, trying to find his best plan of attack.

"If he hurts Laurel, I will end you." Yao Fei growled. "You really need better insults." The Mercenary said, with a bored tone. The men stared them down, guns at the ready. "Oh, and we already have the sword."
"Quite the situation you've found yourself in." Oliver said, observing her situation. "What are you doing here?" Laurel asked, struggling slightly. "I'm here with friends." Oliver said.

"Black Access," Ian hissed, hitting a button on his Morpher to transform, so at least he'd be armored. He couldn't sling his bow off easily, so he settled for gripping his firearm, sure that the motion of moving for it wouldn't be good for them.

"A Drake Foundation agent. Interesting friend you've found, Yao." The Mercenary said, pulling out one of his own pistols. "I never expected to hear you so blatantly beg for death." Yao said. "I don't think so." The Mercenary said, signaling his men, who began advancing. Within moments, two were dead, arrows sticking out of their throats. "Go! Tend to Laurel!" Yao said to Ian, blocking a knife strike with his bow.
Oliver went into a hip pouch, pulling out a handkerchief. "Oliver... You don't-mmph!" Laurel started, before Oliver shoved the cloth into her mouth, cleave-gagging her. "No talking." Oliver said, looking her in the eyes.

Ian fired a few shots before he turned and ran, going as fast as he could to try to get to Laurel before anything went wrong.

"The Sniper will handle him. Focus on Yao!" The Mercenary ordered when some of his men began giving chase. "You know you can't win." Yao said, taking another man in the left eye with an arrow, the man screaming in pain as he attempted to pull the arrow out before dropping dead. Yao pulled an arrow out and stabbed another man in the throat.
"Do you know how long I've waited to do this?" Oliver said, his face inches from Laurel's. Laurel shied away, unable to go far. She was beginning to regret how good Ian was at this.

Ian lifted his bow from his shoulder and drew back for an arrow. As soon as he came into view, he lifted and fired for the other man.

Oliver leapt back, the arrow streaking within inches of Laurel, and he raised his left hand, revealing what looked like the top half of a pistol attached to the inside of his wrist. He opened fire on Ian, moving toward cover himself.
Soon, Yao and the Mercenary were alone, eight dead bodies around them with arrows sticking out of various important body parts. "Impressive, as always. It still won't save you. It just means I can deal with you myself." The Mercenary said, raising his pistol and opening fire.

Ian moved towards her, keeping low to avoid whatever that weapon was, taking cover behind trees for now as he moved. He kept his bowstring back, arrow ready.
"Are you ok?" he hissed to her in question when he was close.
