Yao walked through the forest, bow across his back as always. He had an arrow and was twirling with amazing dexterity as he walked, keeping track of his bearings using his communicator. This item he sought: it was connected to Gambit, as it was believed to make any man into the perfect warrior. He walked, searching for this item.

Using his Morpher as a tracer, Ian pushed himself through the forest, becoming slower and more methodical as it grew stronger. He didn't want to walk into anything he wasn't prepared for, so he kept lower, feeling like he might not be alone.

Yao stopped, cocking his head. He was not alone. He pulled his bow out, holding it ready and ceasing his arrow twirling as he continued on.

Ian almost wished he had a gun, but he preferred the bow Precious. He moved slowly, but didn't summon it yet. It felt really off now.

Yao saw Ian moving through the woods, pegging him to be a Gambit agent, come to claim the sword. He nocked an arrow, raised the bow and fired a single arrow at Ian's throat, aiming so as to miss by mere centimeters.

Ian froze as it hit the tree to his side. He span towards the man, Morpher in hand, ready to transform or summon his own bow.

"Why do you come here, Gambit dog?" Yao asked in Mandarin, approaching with another arrow nocked and ready.

"I don't understand your language," is all Ian said for now.

Yao paused. It was somewhat annoying that he could only speak Mandarin, so he relaxed his arrow and activated his wrist translator, repeating what he had just said into it. It completely absorbed the sound of the Mandarin and spoke it in English, making his lips appear out of sync with his spoken words.

"Gambit?" Ian questioned, "What the hell is that?"

"You tell me." Yao said, pulling his arrow back again. "If you are not with Gambit, then why are you here?" Laurel walked through the forest, a good distance from the pair. A crossbow hung from her left shoulder, bolts for it strapped around her thigh. She was looking for Yao, as the man had vanished over three hours before. She was using her phone to track the location of his communicator.

"Hunting for an artifact," he said, tightening his grip on his Morpher.

"You know not the power of what you seek. Leave." Yao said.
Laurel continued making her way through the forest.

"You don't know the power," he said, hitting a button to summon his bow.

"An archer." Yao observed. "I propose a test. If you beat me, I will allow you to pass. If I beat you, you will leave. Understood?"
