Overview: Serena is a bit of a tease. She likes to wear figure-flattering clothing to draw attention to her body, but doesn’t appreciate when people only want to talk to her because she’s attractive. She enjoys the company of both genders, as long as they aren’t complete assholes.

History

Serena was born to unremarkable parents, in an unremarkable situation, and would turn out to be extraordinary. As a child, she always demonstrated great physical prowess, especially when it came to physical strength. She was able to lift things even the boys couldn’t, and this ability developed into a degree of physical strength on par with a super-hero. She also had a bit of a fascination with the Time Legion, her father being a former officer. She had some respect for the law, but fell in with the wrong crowd as a wayward teenager. She had her experimentation period, which is when her mother gave her the bracelets, which had been in her family for generations. Serena thought they looked cool and wore them around.
When she came of age, she joined the Legion and began doing work with them. She discovered the powers of the bracelets almost by accident when arresting a criminal, and thought of them as almost like super-handcuffs. She went a little crazy, though, and began using them for personal purposes as well as going overboard when using them at work, and accidentally killed one of the criminals she was supposed to be arresting. She had her rank stripped, and was put into a cryo-stasis cell while she awaited proceedings in her disciplinary hearing. However, the Razing happened first, with the future falling apart around her while she waited, unseeing. Upon awakening, she was found by John, a teammate, who took her to the Time Jets. They traveled back, following the others before them.

“You can’t be the guy to take me to my hearing.” Serena said weakly, looking at him. “You’re too pretty.”
“Thank you for the compliment, but now is not the time. What’s your name?” John asked.
“Serena Vanderly, formerly of the Time Legion.” Serena said, displaying her decommissioned Chrono Changer.
“John Valren, currently of the Time Legion. Since I’m not certain any of our commanding officers are alive, I’m claiming the authority to reinstate you.” John said, waving his badge over the Changer. It beeped and lit up, before turning back off.
“What happened?” Serena asked.
“It’s better you see it. Come on, let’s go.” John said, helping her to her feet and helping her walk.

Overview: John is smooth or at least he perceives himself to be. He enjoys the company of women, any woman, so long as she’s reasonably attractive and not entirely airheaded. He’s not the type to objectify, though. He prides himself on charming his way in based on personality, not mere flattery and compliments, though he is not above resorting to flattery. Although, he does have some secrets. He’s still hurting about losing Jane, but he keeps his pain bottled up, hides behind his suaveness and charm.

History

John was born into a fairly rich family, living the good life for his early years. His brother Daniel began teaching him things, techniques that he called “plays”. John didn’t understand what they were at first, but as he grew older and wiser to the world, he came to understand their purposes and remembered them well. When the time came for him to become interested in girls, he was ready. He was immediately a hit with the ladies, refining his tactics with practice and determination. He practically burned through girls, making sure never to burn bridges, in case he needed the connection for the future. That turned out to be a good decision, when in ninth grade; he came under investigation for stealing answers to a test. He was hanging out with a group of girls he had previously dated, and was being framed by a jealous football player who was mad John was getting all the girls he wanted. His friends helped him prove his innocence, and the footballer got expelled.
Upon graduating high school, he went into the Time Legion academy and graduated with flying colors, joining and meeting Jane Kendio. The two immediately hit it off, as Jane was the only one who didn’t immediately fall for one of his many plays, and they began having a steady relationship. It progressed to the point where he proposed to her, and they began planning the wedding before John was called out to a mission. While he was away, the Razing happened, killing Jane in the process. When he returned, he began sifting through the wreckage, finding Serena but not Jane. He learned that the others had gone into the past and brought Serena with him, taking the remaining Time Jets and going into the past.
