Overview: Cain has quite literally no soul. The first Phantom, he’s one of the strongest, if not the strongest, but chooses not to use his power, preferring to watch people die slowly. He mastered black magic specifically to watch the world of men burn, body and soul, and is not afraid to kill any who stand in his way. He’s so evil, nature begins to corrupt around him when he simply stands in a park.

Henshin Device: The Dark WizarDriver, identical to the WizarDriver but the silver is darker and more dull, almost tarnished.
Henshin Sequence: He summons his Driver with a simple thought, and swipes the Dark Flame Ring and throws his arm out to one side, creating a black seal that passes over his body, forming his armor.

His skin is red, his body furred from the waist down. He has a pair of massive red bat-like wings curling out of his back and clawed fingers. His head in human-like, with a fanged mouth, a black beard styled like a pointed goatee, and a pair of horns curling out of his forehead, just above his eyes.

  Fighting Style: He prefers to use his illusory powers to drive his opponents insane before engaging in a one-sided fight. That is, when he can’t get the Morriga to fight for him.

  Abilities: He can manipulate time and space to give the illusion of super-speed and teleportation. He also has limited reality-warping powers, but this is mostly in the form of shockingly elaborate illusions, able to warp the shapes and materials of objects and create new ones from thin air. He can also read minds, and uses this to learn a person’s greatest fear and exploit it via illusions, causing them to see reminiscent visions of this fear in the corners of their field of view. He can also enter any Gate’s subspace, regardless, and speak with the Phantom inside. He’s also been known to both hide inside mirrors and trap people in mirrors.

History

Everyone knows the story of Cain, the first murderer, but not everyone knows what happened next. As punishment for this sin, the Christian God forsook Cain, and Cain fell to despair, creating the very first Phantom. Cain decided to use this newfound power of his to watch Man burn, to punish God for forsaking him. He spent his new immortal life creating and perfecting the art of black magic, using his magic to unleash devastating plagues, singlehandedly making and spreading the Black Plague throughout Europe, during the time when men had the most faith in God, in an attempt to shake it, but failing. He retreated to Ireland, lying in wait.
During this time, he met the Morriga, a trio of Phantom sisters. More accurately, they sought him out, hoping to gain power. Cain granted it in return for their servitude, raising them to the power of Greater Phantoms. He continued to lie in wait, consulting an Oracle while he did. There, he heard a prophecy: one who channels his magic through rings of power shall defeat him. Cain didn’t like this, and went back to his hiding place, making several diseases, including cancer, tuberculosis, and others and casting them out into the human world. He took a special interest in Kelly, due to her ability to control diseases, and used her as a harbinger for his own diseases.
Recently, he’s heard that a wizard who uses Rings is currently in Las Vegas. He brought his three generals with him to Vegas, observing this new Rider and creating a copy of his system before infusing his own magic, corrupting it. While in Vegas, he also took the time to learn about the magical community, learning of the White Wizards and the far-more-prolific community than previously thought. He looks forward to the challenge.

Overview: Jennifer is, plain and simple, a bitch. She enjoys deflating humans with large egos, or even killing the more “confident” ones. She doesn’t like many people. In fact, the only person she really likes at all is Cain, and that’s a fanatical loyalty, not true liking. She’s a firm believer in pain sets the mind free, and cuts herself so she can think, as the pain brings a strange clarity to her mind. When in fights, especially against men, she’ll often make comments about “private activities” or even openly hit on them as a confusion tactic.

History

Jennifer was born the eldest child of three to a poor Irish family in the Middle Ages. She wasn’t named Jennifer, but her true name has been lost to time. She was always the one to stand up for her sisters, and loved her parents deeply, helping them on their small farm the moment she was old enough in an attempt to help Sarah, who was always sickly. When their parents died in a Viking raid, Jennifer fell to despair, transforming into a creature of the night and singlehandedly turning back the raid.
At first, she was still a good person, despite having gained her new powers by dying from despair, her Phantom being essentially a new, improved her. But as time passed and her sisters fell as well, she went through a radical personality change, becoming a sadomasochistic tease. She began mistreating her sisters, and was the first to learn of Cain’s existence and convince her sisters that they should travel to meet him and gain greater power. When they joined with Cain and became Greater Phantoms, Jennifer adopted her current moniker and took up a position in the world at large.
Most famously, she was the “Venus” of Leopold von Sacher-Masoch’s “Venus in Furs”, and has always had great political power throughout the ages. Recently, she gave up her considerable wealth and power to move to Vegas with Cain, although she didn’t lose it for long when she married the owner of a famous and wealthy casino. When he turned up dead a few weeks later, she was the primary suspect, but managed to deflect the suspicion away from herself and inherited the casino and his fortune in his will. She currently uses this casino as a “hunting ground” for new Phantoms and a base of operations for Cain and her sisters.

History

Sarah was the second child, and was also very dedicated to helping her family in that time now long past. She worked many jobs, as a seamstress and menial laborer and other household work, trying to support Kelly and her failing health, in addition to the rest of the family. When Jennifer fell during the raid, they lived with her for a while, until Kelly fell. Once Kelly all but died, Sarah fell not soon after, following the pattern of the two before her and gaining a Phantom form both with raven-like abilities and that was essentially a remodeled version of her human self.
When Jennifer began to change, Sarah began to resent her. Resenting how she was always bossing them around, Sarah took a different path: instead of taking a carnal interest in the living, she took a morbid interest in death. She began building her own legend, using her scream (from a distance) to signal the near-imminent death of someone. When she learned of the legend of the Banshee, she was greatly pleased.
She was the first to support Jennifer in going to see Cain and gain greater power, using her enhanced scream to signal deaths all over the country. She moved to Vegas with the others, and currently only comes out at night to both claim lives and make new Phantoms.

Overview: Kelly almost completely shuns outside contact beyond Cain, her sisters and battle. She’s nearly silent, and never touches people, since she could kill them, even if she’s not trying. She wears protective gear when she goes out in public, which is a rare occasion in and of itself, and she only goes out on direct orders from Cain.

History

Kelly was the last child born, and she was born sickly. She always had hope though, since her family worked tirelessly to save her, to keep her alive. However, when their parents died and Jennifer fell, Kelly’s health declined rapidly. She soon lost all hope of staying alive and fell to despair, gaining a unique ability to control disease as her new Phantom form. She hated this ability, since it reminded her too much of her sickly state in life.
She was the last to be convinced to go see Cain, as she wanted nothing to do with her Phantom state. However, her demeanor changed greatly when she ascended to the status of a Greater Phantom. She began blaming humanity for her sickly form, for not caring enough to cure her, and began using her power to murder large numbers of humans. In this manner, Cain learned of her ability and decided to enhance it, infusing all of the diseases he had created to plague humanity. This made her sick again, which made her kind of angry, but she used her powers to transmit the disease by merely touching people.
As the years progressed, this power became unconscious, and she lost the ability to control it, now transmitting the diseases every time she touched someone. She took to wearing a mask and gloves and keeping away from society, but the diseases had a semi-unintended side effect; it greatly increased her strength and physical resistance. She became the fighter of the group, using these powers to fight for the cause. When she’s not out fighting, however, she’s Cain’s most trusted of the three, consulting him on strategy and tactics and occasionally personal things.
