Overview:

Chitoge can come off as a nice girl who was just born in the wrong family, caring about other people she tries to help them in whatever way possible. However she has a deep seated hatred of crime and gangsters as well as the perception that the end justifies the means, and so she is willing to work with Foundation X in return for their aid. In addition the ‘nice girl’ persona is a fake as she is a manipulative woman who doesn’t care where she flaunts her strength, eager to destroy all crime whether the person is guilty or not. She does have a deep seated love for Raku, even though she had not confessed to him yet, anyone who hurts him will find themselves drowning in despair.

History

Born into a family of American gangsters people tend to think that Chitoge had it tough, her mother marrying an American gangster was certainly not one expected to happen. But that was far from the truth as Chitoge had a happy childhood, if restrained, however that childhood was shadowed by the fact that she had little friends because of who her family was. She was also bullied constantly by those brave enough to do so, but alas said bullies would mysteriously ‘disappear’ or would transfer out soon enough. That led her to hate her family and her fate as the next head of the gangster family, however the crux came when her family moved to Japan and immediately got into a turf war with Raku’s family who were Yakuzas, therefore in order to minimize the bloodshed both families decided to have their two heirs marry each other.

Naturally Chitoge was furious and it only served to bring her hatred faster, however she found an unexpected ally in the form of Raku who also hated his family, together they vowed that they would destroy both of their families when they got enough power and end all organized crime once and for all. Slowly, but surely, Chitoge fell in love with Raku though it was a one-sided affair as Raku seemed oblivious to this.

One day they were approached by an agent of Foundation X who promised them funding and manpower in exchange for some ‘services’ that they had to do. Eager to quickly gain power both of them took the Horoscope switches as Chitoge became the Pisces Horoscope as their humanity was destroyed.

Overview:

Raku might come off as a timid boy, scared of everything and running away when things get tough. However that is nothing more then a façade as the real Raku is cruel and vindictive, eager to ‘punish’ anyone who defies Foundation X. He is loyal only to Chitoge and does not believe in friends or comrades, he doesn’t even trust the other Horoscopes unless Chitoge says so.

History

Born into a Yazkua family Raku had a tough life, unable to make friends he got into fights frequently to vent his frustration at the world. He tried arguing with his father but it only made things worse, it was also around the same time that he became more ‘timid’ to let people’s guard down, mostly because he found that fighting all the time was too tiring, he became more helpful to people though he would scheme behind their back.

One day he met with Chitoge whose family decided to marry her to him so that both of their families wouldn’t have to suffer with the turf war. He accepted it while Chitoge didn’t, however as time went on they understood each other and vowed to destroy their family and make them pay for what they’ve done to them.

Around the same time a man from the Foundation X offered them the Horoscope switch, in exchange for serving them they would aid the two heirs in destroying their family through funding, information and manpower if need be. Not wanting to pass this extraordinary opportunity both took the offer, losing their humanity when they turned into the Horoscope as Raku became the Cancer Horoscope.

“Steak burger,” Raku replied as the waitress went to get their order, “you should really try something other then salad Chitoge.”

“I don’t like unhealthy food, it makes me look fat,” Chitoge said.

“You look fine to me,” Raku said as Chitoge glowered at him, “well, well it’s up to you, but you really are missing out on the finer things in life.”
