Crusade of the Night

For generations untold, a war has raged in the shadows in the Land of the Rising Sun. Horrors, demonic beasts that want nothing more than to consume the souls of humans and use their bodies as vessels to increase their power, have been met in battle by the Order of the Makai, a secretive order that consists of two types of members: Priests and Priestesses, men and women that work behind the scenes to maintain the weapons and equipment of the other, and slightly more well known, type of member: the Knights, men who can summon armor made of Soul Metal, the only material capable of causing harm to Horrors. This power passes from father to son, and if there is no son, then the Knight must find a protege, to prevent the secret of the armor from dying with him.

Recently, especially in the South and East, Horrors have been springing up with uncommon regularity, usually once every week or so. This surge means something very powerful is coming: something that will require the Knights and Priests to band together, to fight this menace. For if they fail, the world shall fall under eternal night, and humanity shall cease to exist.
