He’s smart and talented in various fields, acting as a semi-fearless leader, but plagued by his own doubts, believing that so few will have trouble fighting so many. He’s also a pretty good cook. He also has a firm belief in unlimited potential in any individual.

History

Aiden and Tia were born in Honolulu, Hawaii, to parents who were of some Japanese ancestry along with Caucasians, giving them their somewhat Asian roots. They lived on Honolulu for years, going through schooling there, until ATLANTIS became a possibility.

Due to the crowding on the islands, and the desire to live in an area that was somewhat similar, the family went to ATLANTIS. They finished school there and began to try to find lives there, with Tia just graduating, and Aiden unable to find something to do with his life yet.

When the AI went rogue, he applied for REVOLUTION, but wasn’t selected. But when the next threat came, and new powers were needed, the elemental energies of special crystals were harnessed and Aiden was called in. He assumed the mantle of the NEXT Green Ranger, becoming the leader of the developing team.

Tia joined as well, having the skill needed. He was worried about it, but accepted her into the team as the others joined as well, being some of the only few to be able to handle the energies required to transform, thus limiting the team to few people, but the team was assembled, and ready to fight under Aiden’s leadership.

Overview:
Tia isn’t really a girly girl or anything, she’d rather be out doing something useful than doing things her friends want to do, like shop. She still wants to be with people, and likes people, but feels that there’s a line between friendship and doing something worthwhile, mostly brought about after the attacks on ATLANTIS. She really is kind and warm, and just looking for her place in the world, unsure of where it is. She hadn’t found it yet, and now that she’s been thrust into this battle, she doesn’t know if she’ll find it. She’s smart, but doesn’t know what to do about it. She’s starting to think that after the fighting she should just marry a wealthy man. She’s serious. She’s also willing to experiment with women, but doubts anything good about it. She, like her brother, is also a good cook.

Overview:
Alicia is someone who’s been through bad things in life, but she’s come out with a decent perspective on life. She’s a kind person with a bit of a temper at times, but it’s understandable. She’s really been able to keep it down, surprisingly, after everything that’s happened to her. She’s practical and well meaning, someone who can get along with the others and try to stop any infighting between them, or between NEXT and REVOLUTION. She cares about the job and the duty, but wants it to be over. She didn’t choose this, but will do it. She just wanted a peaceful life on ATLANTIS, and still wants it, but isn’t sure if Earth is even right anymore, and wonders about Spes. The sight of Aiden and Tia is painful to her, especially when they show their brother/sister relationship. She has issues with hospitals and the like.

History

Her life before she was thirteen isn’t too important. Normal life, one brother, two loving parents, living in Chicago. When she was thirteen, just around the time she was about to turn fourteen, she got involved in an accident, cutting up her right side. She was rushed to the hospital and managed to be fixed up and saved from nearly dying from blood loss. It had been an accident involving a moving truck hitting her.

During her time in the hospital after being stitched up, she was left alone for a bit of time by her family. From time to time they would come, but that was expected. They had lives they had to get on with. They couldn’t leave work to just be with her, especially since she would be out soon. She wanted them to do what they had to do.

Her doctor sexually assaulted her in her sleep one night before she left. When she woke up, he continued and told her not to say anything about it. This went on for three nights, and on the third he raped her. She didn’t know what to do, but was able to eventually confide in her brother, with whom she was very close.

After getting out of the hospital she never saw her brother again. He had gone there with a gun and had shot the doctor to death before turning it on himself so he wouldn’t be arrested, since he knew he did the right thing, but in the wrong way. Or so his note ended up stating. Shocked and saddened by this series of events, she ended up going through two and a half more years of school before relocating, ending up on ATLANTIS with her aunt and uncle. She finished schooling there and began to work as a receptionist at a government facility for a time.

When the AI took over and the other threats arrived, she didn’t know what to do. Eventually scientists tested something on her, and a crystal reacted. She was brought with them to meet with Aiden and his growing team, given the powers to become NEXT Yellow, as she was the first they found who could react to it, and as such they wanted her, fighter or not.

Now Alicia fights for NEXT as one of its members, learning how to fight slowly, but it is coming along well.

Overview:
Driven almost solely by duty, Drew is a man who wants to protect the people, no matter the cost. He’s a police officer by blood and by drive, and wants to be able to help people as one, or as a Ranger. He sees being a Ranger as more rewarding, since he can actually do something about these threats. He has trouble relating to his new allies, and sees the fight as more important than bonding with them, but he appreciates their drives to fight. He’s ready to die in the fight, but he doesn’t want to. Dying means he can’t protect people anymore. Oddly, he ignores his Blaster, as he was never a great shot, despite being a police officer.

History

Drew was born to a police family. The blood ran blue for him too, and he chose that path early in life. He went into a police academy in Charleston and completed the training, but couldn’t get a job. He had the training he needed, but couldn’t really do anything with it as he turned twenty one.

He heard about ATLANTIS and figured that was a good idea. They might need police. He went there and became hired along with people from other countries. It seemed he wasn’t alone in his idea. But now ATLANTIS had a police force to help it along, and that was good.

He worked there for about a year before the AI hit. The police were useless against the machines and were forced to be called back, to conserve the fighting force. The police members tried to join the REVOLUTION project, but it didn’t go very well for Drew. He was pulled out and thrust back into waiting while they tried to develop countermeasures and weapons to fight with.

But he would get his chance to fight. Weapons weren’t finished by the time he was selected for the NEXT project, having something that one of the crystals resonated with. He was pulled out of the police and equipped to become NEXT black, finding it an honor and a pleasure to be able to fight. Fighting under Aiden, however, wasn’t something he liked, seeing as the man had no formal training. However, Aiden made him field leader and second in command, which Drew did appreciate.

Overview:
A bit laid back, but serious when the time calls for it, Christian is thrilled to be a Ranger and a warrior. He believes in the fight, and won’t quit, no matter the pain. He hates pain, though. He’s someone who was trying to become a doctor, so is fine with some of the sights, but his own pain is something different. He’s smart, but he doesn’t think he was actually cut out to be a doctor, so he thinks that being a hero is salvation from a failed attempt at a future he told his parents he would have. He regrets not being able to become one – he’s so positive he’d fail at it that this is now what he believes. He would never be one – but is happy to be able to help people in another way, if nothing else.

History

Born in the Philippines, Christian was an only child, but had a lot of people around to be his friends. They were all together a lot, and often talked about the future and what they would do with their lives. In a series of one-upping each other, Christian said he’d become a doctor, and it kind of stuck. He would later look back and wonder why being childish would drive him on his career path.

His parents were excited for him to be taking this path in his life, and he didn’t want to let them down. He did all he could in high school, learning Latin, learning anything he could about the body and the medical field. He realized he was in over his head.

He started college and began to realize he was screwed. He did the best he could, but was falling behind slowly, more and more. He lied to his parents about his progress so they wouldn’t know he was failing, and kept struggling, still falling farther and farther behind.

ATLANTIS wanted to start opening schools, so he transferred, telling his parents he might learn something better there. It was his hope to catch up there, or be given some help, away from his parents, where he wouldn’t have to let them know of his failures. But after transferring, and still faring poorly, the AI attacked, and he was nearly killed. He recovered for a time and wasn’t sure what to do. They weren’t teaching anymore at this point, but he was later found by Aiden and partnered with his sister, Tia, after given a crystal, becoming NEXT Red, happy to be able to make a difference.

Overview:
Tyler is the youngest member of the team, and often is unsure if he’s worthy or not, or if they should have sought someone else with the crystals. He’s happy to be able to help, but is sure he’s the weakest link, making him work all the harder for them. He’s a quick witted boy and clever, which helps him get by, but unsure of himself deep down. He worries about himself and the others, and will often put himself in the way of danger, realizing that he’s the weakest member and the one who could be replaced, and lost without much difficulty. This makes him a bit reckless as a result, but a decent fighter. He doesn’t feel worthy of being Aiden’s partner.

History

Tyler was born in London and spent his life growing up there, but he was in an orphanage for a few years. He didn’t know his family until he was five, and adopted by a new one, which became his family. He liked to have a family, and people to love him and look after him, but he always wondered as he grew older what it would be like to have his real family.

He went to a school and picked up the lessons quickly enough. He was naturally clever and quick witted, so that helped him out. He didn’t have many friends, as he wasn’t entirely sure how to make friends, but he got by.

He did well enough in school over the years, but kept to himself, finding hobbies outside of school rather than in clubs or friends. His parents were worried over him because of that, and they ended up moving to a smaller city. It didn’t help. He was still alone, partially because he chose it.

Two years ago they moved to ATLANTIS in another attempt to help Tyler. He enjoyed the new location, but everything remained the same for him, as usual. However, when the AI attacked and things got bad, he started to make bonds with some people, fearing death.

When the NEXT project began, he was located last. Aiden made him his partner and gave him the powers of NEXT Blue, which Tyler didn’t think he was appropriate for, due to his age and being of less worth. He fights, but isn’t really believing in himself.

All six of them ran into the field, led by Aiden. He lifted his belt first, affixing it to his waist. The others followed suit, except for Christian, who slung his on instead of placing it.

The six of them each pulled out a card and held it out, “Are we all ready?” Aiden asked.

He received positive answers. They each slid the face of their card over their belt buckles. Lights shone around their bodies; green for Aiden, pink for Tia, black for Drew, yellow for Alicia, red for Christian and blue for Tyler. And when those lights faded they stood in their suited forms.

“Drew?” Aiden asked.

“With pleasure,” the Black Ranger answered, “Ok, my orders from this point on, understood?”

The team nodded. Aiden stood aside for Drew as he summoned his Axe, “Ok, let’s go!”

The team rushed in, Aiden close behind Drew. NEXT was deployed.

Mecha Name: Green Leviathan
Type Of Mecha: Header
Image/ Description: With a green version of the Dragon as its head, it’s a long, snaking body in primarily gray with some other yellow or green splashed here and there.

In Warrior Mode, the body segments break apart and begin to take a vaguely humanoid form, becoming akin to this, with bulky body and stunted limbs. Its Header is on the chest, while its head is gray and humanoid with wing-like patterns flowing upwards and at an angle from it.

It can further change by opening its body to become two large wings, thus freeing its limbs into a warrior mode. Its tail now becomes a better weapon, along with its claws.
