She entered the area, putting on her goggles and setting up the super-laptop. "Lay down on the table please." she said

He did as she asked.

The gadgets all moved to different places, and all different angles, and began recording, as Natsumi, who was now in research mode, undid and pushed aside the clothes that covered his chest, gently....taking in all the data she needed to with her goggles.

He just lay there, a little annoyed. He could have undone his shirt on his own.

"You wanted a kiss, don't deny me that." Natsumi said, making a point to him as she finally gleaned the data she needed...letting one hand linger on his stomach before walking away. "You can relax...but remain on the table." she gave, sitting down at the laptop, completely in research mode.

He laughed a little, turning his head and looking at the wall.

Soon...the results came in. While more advanced, they were the same as the others. There was nothing physically wrong with him. He was in good health, and it seemed as if the remodeling had been a success. She branched her research out, narrowing down data, errant brain patterns, and previous visual data...

He waited patiently, just wanting to get done, but being patient.

She nodded. So...that's what he had. A seemingly advanced case of it, too. Sighing, she turned. "I have a verdict, if you will." she got up, walking over beside the table. "You have a condition alright, but it's not the one that you think it is."

He looked to her, "And what did you find, then?" he questioned.

"There is nothing physically wrong with you. And before you say that you've heard that before, hear me out. I know what there is to know about remodeling. I know your procedure was a success.. I know that there's nothing wrong with you physically. So, I pursued the logical factor...and you have something called hypochondria, a belief that imagined physical symptoms are signs of a serious illness, leaning towards visions of one's imminent doom."

"I know what hypochondria is," he told her, sitting up, "I'm a med student. Maybe I do have it. Maybe the conversion saved me. I don't know, and I won't know until I confront the people who did this to me and learn about the process."

"The need was there to state it because if you believed you have an illness, your mind would unconsciously keep that illusion up, and reject what you knew of it." Natsumi said flatly. "It saved you physically but it did not mentally, it seems."

"Once I get concrete answers, I can fix it mentally, if that's the case," he said.

"Well, alright then." Natsumi said, shrugging. All she could do was show him that it was all in his head.....now it was up to him. She turned to walk back to her laptop, and sat down, removing her goggles, and shutting the laptop up.
