History

It could be said James never really put stock in his family name. He never really knew if he had the blood of the real El Draque in his veins, even with his love of the sea and ships as a kid. At eight, it never really crossed his mind that he'd ever play host to his ancestor's ghost, certainly.

So he had a normal youth, and a normal school life. He wasn't really exceptional in anything but geography and history, and displayed something of a love for cartography, the science of map-making. By high school, he'd not only become the student council president, he'd been the primary driving force in the creation of said student council.

After schooling, he joined the Royal Navy. He never saw any real combat, but he felt at home on boats. Four years later, he left the navy, and decided to make a life for himself on land. For six years, he worked creating novelty and collectable maps, repairing antique maps, and generally doing something that he found enjoyable.

All it took for the recruiters for Project Tomorrow to notice him was one incident. A small group were in london when a group of mook monsters of one variety or another attacked. Being traditional sentai villains, it was unexpected when a lone man armed only with the nightstick of a fallen policeman disarmed and defeated each of them. "HERO MAPMAKER FELLS MONSTERS" the papers read. A local project office contacted him soon after.

He considered the offer for a long while, before coming in for their testing. He ranked well in every category, and was given the Red key and his Mobirates. Not long after, "El Draque" awakened, seemingly by coincidence. And so, once in a while, Gokai red will occasionally use powers that not even Project Tomorrow envisioned... And call forth a machine that no one built.

Sample RP:

A simple marksmanship trial. Like basic training all over again. He fired off one shot with the gokaigun, aiming dead center on the target. Nice and simple, and it'd give him a general idea of the ballistics. A little off center, low and left. He frowned, and adjusted his aim to compensate. One shot, eyeballed. Nearly dead center.

He frowned, and checked over the Gokaigun. He looked around for a replacement, finding none. A sigh, and he resumed the corrected aim. He fired the weapon five times as rapidly as he could recover from the recoil. Five shots, all within an inch of the center mark. Quick and easy, for two-handed firing.

Personality:
A dashing rogue. Not really; He's an archaic-minded ghost of an old man. James is trying to catch him up about the world. The old man is certainly not making it easy. He's stubborn like a mule. At least he's also chivalrous, in a pirate-y way. That's something.

History:
Legendary British Pirate Francis Drake. Hero to his home country, scourge to Spain's Invincible Armada. Second man to circumnavigate the world; Captured quite a lot of wealth for England. He was Knighted for his efforts, and eventually led the British to a naval victory against the otherwise unstoppable Spanish Armada. He was also a slaver, back when he had control of his own body.

Anything Else: Yes, he's actually dead. Can't actually do anything with James' body without consent, occasionally causing the two to "freeze" in the event that they can't agree on a course of action. James tries to avoid this when possible, but occasionally it's unavoidable.
Sample RP:
It was like waking up from a long nap... Being a ghost, that was. The old man hadn't had a body this young even the day he died, and he'd never been this healthy to start with. This level of energy was an all new feeling.
He could feel James in the back of his head, just sort of too shocked to resist, and he took the moment to feel around the body. He started to move, when the boy got his senses back. The man froze in place, completely immobile. A thought pulsed through his mind...

Why? Why can't I move? Who are you, and where are you taking my body? Drake. Sir Francis Drake. Impossible, impossible. Possession isn't real. Then tell me, who am I, in your head? Their thoughts blended, voices the same in the context of thought. Eventually, they came to the same conclusion at the same time... If we keep arguing, we can't move. Back off, old man, my body, I'll drive til we can figure this out. But I just woke up, can't I drive for a bit? You're older than America, and you've probably got some really antiquated ideas. You can drive when you're useful or caught up on modern society. Otherwise, we won't move til we starve to death. Fine. The old man just watched the boy go about his day, interested and trying hard to avoid being judgmental.
