He nodded. "I appreciate that." Joe said...looking back to his food. For some reason, he didn't feel so comfortable looking at her. Because he hurt her....still though, within a few minutes, the chicken was finished, and he was feeling better already.

She got out of her chair and took care of what he had eaten with, "Please, come with me," she said softly.

She took him to a guest room and offered him the bed, "This is where you always stayed..."

Those words cut him, and he didn't know why...he sat down, looking at her with a forlorn expression...

She got off of the bed and left him for a few moments before coming back with a plain silver ring, "You gave me this," she said, holding it out to him.
