Ahim walked along by the waterfront, looking out at the sea from the pathway, instead of being in the sand. It was getting colder, and the time to be at the beach was about over, but she took this last walk in one of her normal dresses, looking out with a forlorn expression on her face.
She would miss the time there, the warmth, the enjoyment.
But she kept walking on.

The tide was coming in...it had been getting higher each time. It was a cool day...but it was even colder down by the water. Something strange would happen....as the sea laid its charge upon the beach...the human form in mercenary fatigues...several scars that had gone for a long time without medical attention...had been healed by the sea itself, and his body. But now he felt cold....hauntingly cold....as the water receded from him...the tide preparing to come in again.

She took another few steps before looking out again. She saw a body, someone lying in the sand, or the water it looked like. But as she stood for a few moments and looked out at the figure, she realized something. Something looked too familiar.
"Joe...," she breathed, running out onto the sand and towards the water, kicking up water as she ran in as the waves washed in, "Joe-kun!" she called, kneeling by his side, the water coming up and making her dress cling to her. She pulled him into her lap, "Joe-kun!" she called out to him again.

He was still unconscious, but something started to stir in his subconscious...it was the last thing he had said, or thought about. For the moment, he did not move....he didn't know what this feeling was...and couldn't identify it.

She pulled on him and tried to come up and pull him away, but didn't get him far before having to put him down. At least she got him out of the water and onto the sand completely.

After a few minutes....his eyes opened. A proverbial deal with the devil indeed. He would live....but he had to pay a price. And the price was his memories, taking on the amnesia. The incident is barely remembered. He looked around for a moment. "Where....am I?"

"You're in Japan," she told him, "The beach..."

He nods slowly, "Japan? A...alright..." Joe gave, looking at her now. There's something about her that just takes his breath away...but he has this feeling that he knows her...yet....he doesn't. No record of her. Sighing softly, he reached up, brushing something out of his hair. "I thank you...but....who are you?"

Those words nearly broke her heart.
"I-it's me. Ahim," she said softly. "Ahim Fay."

Joe saw the look in her eyes, and it nearly broke his heart as well. Why couldn't he remember? Welll... "It'...it's nice to meet you, Ahim." he gave, unsure of himself now. He didn't want to hurt her...but he didn't remember.
He looked away from her...irritated with himself. It felt like he should know something...but....nothing. He reached out and nothing but blackness answered him. And that scared him.

"Are...are you ok, Joe-kun?" she asked him softly. She wanted to be sure he was fine, and it didn't quite look it to her.

That tone of familiarity....it only made him question things further. He nodded a little, pushing it aside. "I need to be somewhere warm...a shower, and some food." he said quietly. "And I need to check myself out, make sure I didn't break anything."

She nodded, "Yes, of course," she said, taking out her phone and calling Pieter. She couldn't get Joe to her home alone, she'd need her brother's help.

"Who was that?" he questioned, looking at her after she'd finished.

"My brother. Pieter. You know him," she said softly.
