After some time and doing some more catching up, they had arrived at the facility for the Project.
"We're here," she told him.

Joe nodded. "You lead, I'll follow." he gave, because she knew more about the project than he did.

She lead him inside the facility, briefly speaking to people they passed. She took them to the director of the project.
"So, you want to join us?" he asked Joe, "You'll have to go through tests."

Joe went through the tests, passing each one that was given to him, without complaint. He was good with both gun and sword, but much preferred the sword. Two swords, actually. Soon, he walked out of the training area to where the director awaited.
