A powerful sword was apparently lying in wait in South America. In some ruins, or something.
He pushed a treebranch out of the way as he walked in his traveling gear. It was hot, it was hard to find his way, and more importantly, he was alone. He didn't like this place at all.
And the Sword was a dangerous object, too. He couldn't let someone else get to it. He also had to worry over who he'd sell it to...

A rather annoying job. The R&D section's new device had picked up a strange energy reading, and the higher ups had sent Kakeru to investigate. Sure, he was their best field agent, and had the most experience with dangerous relics, what with having four living in his body, but it was still a troublesome task. Especially since it dropped him in the middle of bumfuck nowhere. But he had a job to do, and he was, if nothing else, dedicated to completing the jobs he's assigned. "Might as well get it over with. Azo, take over to find the source. Artie said it was the ruins of some old civilization, but something prevented our craft from getting close." He sighed, as Azo took control, eyes gaining a pale white tint.

He stopped and looked around. Lost? Again?
"This is why I need others in the field," he muttered, hacking away at some foliage with a machete, but it did little to help. It all looked exactly the same, and the readings weren't giving him good directions.

Azo sniffed about, looking for traces of civilization. Copper, bronze, iron, clay, cloth, something that could lead him to the ruins. It took a bit of time, but he got a whiff of fired clay, likely pottery of some sort, and bronze. With a kickstart, he sprinted towards the scent, deftly weaving through brush and branches.

He started to hear something. Footsteps? He looked around, was someone else here? He started to push through the foliage until he hit a clearing, looking around.

Seeing a clearing not far ahead of him, Azo's pace increased. However, as he ran, he caught wind of another scent. A human scent. Fighting his instinct to go combat mode, he simply leapt into the clearing, stopping with a slight skidding spin, and letting Kakeru take back over. "Well then, another person out here. And of civilized descent, at that. What a surprise. Guess I'm not the only one who's been deployed here." He chuckled, noticing that the man was, in a normal sense, much better equipped for this terrain than him. However, Kakeru himself was decently equipped as well, so in the case that the man turned hostile, Kakeru would be able to handle himself.

"Who are you?" Jack demanded, "And what are you doing here?"
The machete wasn't a good weapon if this got violent. But he had his other equipment ready.

Kakeru chuckled. "Well, maybe if you asked more politely, or introduced yourself first, I'd be more willing to tell you. As for why I'm here, I'll have to assume from the same reason as you are. To find the thing in the ruins." He said, keeping his tone calm and airy.

"Jack Drake. Yes, I'm trying to find it, it's dangerous. That's what I do, I secure dangerous objects," he stated, "Now, you?"

Kakeru chuckled. "Much better. Daishori Kakeru, of Black Fang. It's my job to investigate potential disaster of supernatural or extraterrestrial natures, and prevent any possible disaster or casualty. So long as neither of those is your goal, I'd say you're not a target." He smiled briefly, before turning in the direction Azo had gone in. He could just barely make out a building in the distance, which he could somewhat recognize as the ruins he searched for. "Look, we're close. I'd say five to ten minutes on foot."

"Fine. Let's work together," he said, "Though I want it, in the end."

"Oh, so you know what it is? Mind sharing that bit of information? I don't want it, mind you. Just that if it's a bioweapon, I have to destroy it." He said rather playfully, pulling out a small pistol and twirling it a bit. However, despite it's incredibly realistic appearance, it was merely a practice tool for disarming and gun kata training that he'd requested from Artie.

"It's not a bioweapon," he stated, watching the gun in the other man's hand, "It's an ancient artifact. One that can be used for a great deal of danger, if someone gets to it first who wants to us it as a weapon," he stated, adding in one more thing, "It's called the Sword of Damocles."

Kakeru chuckled, holstering his "weapon" before turning to face the man. "A sword, eh? Sounds Greek, too. Seems strange for it to be here in South America. No matter, looks like we're in agreement, so you've got yourself a temporary cooperative." He said, grinning a bit. He'd play along for now with the man, and see where things lead. If necessary, he could drop alliance and take action, but he'd hoped it wouldn't be needed.

"It was scattered, to be kept out of the hands of people who would use it for ill gain," Jack told him simply, leaving it at that.
