Return from the Wastes [Open]

[Cass Hoban]

Cass walked through the streets of London, feeling out of place. He was dirty, ragged, but he didn't care. This is who he was; a mercenary with no luxuries. He didn't care how people viewed him, because he knew who he was.

He felt naked without his firearms, but he had a knife at least. And the DiEnd Driver, whatever that was good for.

He walked into a bar where he saw a few of his fellows sitting. He didn't join them, sitting at the bar and ordering himself a drink. He'd drink alone.

[Ezekiel Iris]

He'd only ever been to London once. He'd been seven years old and his family had taken him there. Ezekiel could remember Buckingham Palace, and Big Ben and he could even, briefly, remember a man selling fruit trying to "Get 'im to talk proper an all that,". Iris pondered the remarkable things one could find in London before deciding that he needed a drink.

He walked into the nearest bar, sat himself down at the bar and ordered a drink. "Diend" was still swimming in his head. Ezekiel knew that he had to track him down but neither of them had seen each other outside of the armour! It was impossible!

As he drank, he glanced at Iris. He had never seen this man before, but there was something strange about him. Something oddly familiar. But why? He hadn't seen this guy. He'd keep it in mind. His intuition meant something to him.

[Hidari Shotaro]

Shotaro sat at a table across from the bar. He had recently arrived in London a few days ago to investigate Gaia Memory distribution. He had managed to take down all (Known) distribution plants in Fuuto, but the supply seemed to be ever increasing in his home city. after snooping around, some reliable sources told him they were being mass produced overseas, and one of their plants was in London, exporting them all over the world and selling them on the street. He had to stop them.

these new Gaia Memories seemed to be more addictive and more dangerous than those from Fuuto. Their users became more dependant upon them and quicker. They were like heroine addicts, hating themselves for using them, but just itching for an excuse to transform, be it a fight or a crime to just get the blood pumping.

The last Dopant Shotaro fought back in Fuuto was just a kid. Couldn't have been more than 15 years old. He hated foundation X for that. turning upon innocent children to get their poison on the streets and into the population. He needed to stop them, or he would never be able to wear his mentors hat again. His honour wouldnt allow it.

He sighed and had one last flick through the information he had gathered so far in his note book before throwing it in his jacket pocket and tending to his drink. JD on the rocks, his favourite. He took a sip and began to survey the scene as the cool, brown liquid drizzled down his throat.

[Ezekiel Iris]

Ezekiel looked up at the television screen above the bar, new Gaia Memories. Interesting.
"So." He said, loud enough that everyone in the quiet bar could hear "What do we reckon about all these dopants running around London 'eh?"

[Cass Hoban]

"They'll be quick to the kill," one of Hoban's men commented, "I don't know if guns can do it, but our leader can!" he boasted, more than a little drunk.

[Hidari Shotaro]

Shotaro just listened to the exchange going on around him and sighed.

"These baka-yaro!" he thought, "Probably never even seen a Dopant before. they're much more formidable than they think!"

He continued to sip his drink and observe the bar

[Cass Hoban]

"Probably never seen a Dopant, doesn't mean he hasn't killed bigger or worse with..."

"Stop," Cass told the man, silencing him before he mentioned DiEnd.

[Ezekiel Iris]

"So ..." Ezekiel said, looking over at the detective away from him before glancing back to Cass "What do you guys do for a living?"

[Cass Hoban]

He glanced at Iris. There was something off here.

"Don't answer him," Cass told his drunken man.

[Ezekiel Iris]

He rolled his eyes and looked behind him at the other gentleman, the Japanese man with the nice hat.
"Alright you, what do you do?" He called.

He glanced at the other men for a second. A bit scruffy so they'd obviously been ... somewhere recently. Then there was the way they carried themselves, big, well-trained in good shape but not completely disciplined. He turned away from them and blinked.

[Hidari Shotaro]

Shotaro looked up and then around him to see who the man at the bar was talking to. when he saw no one else there he pointed to himself

"Ore...?" he questioned

[Ezekiel Iris]

"はい、おれ。" Ezekiel replied "とう思うか"

He wasn't entirely sure that was grammatically correct, for one thing he'd said "Tou omou ka" rather than the more correct "Dou omou" but at least you'd get the gist of "Yes, you, what do you think?".

[Hidari Shotaro]

"I dont know what you're talking about" Shotaro said before sipping his drink again, "any what i do, is none of your business!"

[Ezekiel Iris]

Ezekiel got up and walked over to where Shotaro was sitting.
"Oh?" He asked, rather simply "And um ... why is that?"

The "Um" wasn't a legitimate "Oh darn what am I talking about" um it was just there to pad out the sentence. He was glaring at Shotaro, not even blinking.
