Overview:
Shotaro tends to be quite stubborn and headstrong, diving into situations without thinking about it most of the time. He’s extremely loyal and strong with his principles, even if it costs him. He’s become a bit broken after the death of his partner, but sometimes his life seems to only be a shell of its former self. He can be easily distracted by beautiful women, and act as a romantic. He’s more half-boiled than hard-boiled, but that’s not always a bad thing, even if he says it is. He’s somewhat arrogant, and tries to look cool without falling flat on his face or anything of the like. He has a strong sense of justice and will always try to do the right thing.

History

Shotaro was an orphaned boy living in Fuuto, eventually taken in by Sokichi Narumi to become his protégé. He began to devote his life to becoming a detective under his mentor. He had troubles living up to the expectations that he wanted to meet, and wondered if he would be good enough to surpass his mentor when the time came.

He ended up becoming his mentor’s partner as well, with the use of a Double Driver. During an investigation one night at the Sonozaki Laboratories, his mentor was shot in the back. He gave Shotaro his Lost Driver and hat after the Double Driver was destroyed. On the run, Shotaro found the six Gaia Memories they had utilized, and used Joker to fight his way out with his mentor’s corpse.

The Joker Memory was nearly destroyed in the process of his escape, but he held onto it. At his mentor’s funeral, Shotaro swore vengeance against all those who would terrorize the city, and swore to protect Fuuto from all threats, and especially the terrors caused by Gaia Memories.

Eventually Shotaro obtained T2 Memories of his six Memories, and obtained an Extreme Memory.

Shotaro walked towards the Dopant, anger at its presence flowing inside of Shotaro. He drew up the Lost Driver in his right hand, tapping his pointer finger against the side of the Driver as he lowered it to his waist, letting the belt spin out and attach to his waist.

He tossed his Joker Memory into the air, catching it in his right hand, “Time to count up your sins,” he told the Dopant, clicking his Memory.

Joker

“Henshin!” he called, loading the Memory in. The Memory called out its own name again as he threw his hand down, casting out the arm of the Driver.

Black and purple waves of energy came up around his body. Tear-like lines ran down his face, under his eyes as the armor built up.

“Now…you will count up your sins!”
