Generations of Oni [ Amaki ]

[Zanki]

"Well I don't know if anyone else uses this place anymore--I think I may have been the only one who used this place regularly. Usually I don't even come here to train, simply to meditate and clear my head." Zanki explained for her.

[Yukie Kida]

She nodded, "I mostly need the target practice, since I don't fight a lot," she said. She couldn't keep her skills sharp via combat if she didn't experience a lot of it.

[Zanki]

"In that case, how about I help you some." Zanki chuckled, taking out a few of his Discs. "Shooting targets in general is nice, but how about challenging yourself with a moving target?" He questioned.

[Yukie Kida]

"What are those?" she asked, never having seen them.

[Zanki]

"So you don't know what these are. Figures, well, how do I explain..." Zanki put a hand to his chin as he still held the discs. "These are Discs which can become Animal Familiars that help us Oni in battle. While they are primarily used for reconnaissance--such as searching for someone in particular or scouting for monsters--they can help out offensively in a pinch if need-be. The three discs in my hands can become a type of Disc Animal called Blue Falcons." He explained to her.

Zanki threw the discs out as they changed in mid-air and became a trio of floating blue birds. "These things can be destroyed quite simply, but I would like to challenge you is to try and shoot them down and destroy them--each with one shot, whilst they move." He smiled at her.

[Yukie Kida]

"I'll give it a shot," she offered, "It would be great practice."

[Zanki]

Zanki smiled, he made a whistle and the three Blue Falcons began to fly around in different positions and directions. "Alright, whenever your ready." He put a hand on Yukie's shoulder and nodded reassuringly. Taking a step back from her as he would watch her.

[Yukie Kida]

She lifted her weapon, bracing one arm with the other hand. She moved the trumpet around, trying to keep steady on any of them. But she was having trouble. She shot twice, but missed both of them. She continued to try to follow along, but kept missing.

[Zanki]

Zanki folded his arms as he watched. She had much to learn, that much was obvious, but he knew she would make a fine Oni for the new Generation. He closed his eyes as he decided to help her out a bit.

"Don't aim for where they are or when they move--but where they will be."

[Yukie Kida]

"But they move too much. I might aim, and they move another direction," she said, turning back to look at him, "It's not guaranteed to be linear."

[Zanki]

Zanki chuckled, glad she had noticed that much. "Good, you're being observant. Its true such a practical method won't work, that's why in a case like this you can't use such simplistic means of aiming." Zanki held one finger up as he put it against the side of his head, tapping it twice.

"You cannot aim for where they are, what path they follow, or where they shall be. You must use your enhanced senses as an Oni, you must feel where the Bird wishes to fly and shoot as he takes flight. Your senses much allow you to fire with no window of aiming nor hesitation as without either of those, the bird cannot change and adapt to the fact you know where it will fly."

[Yukie Kida]

She listened, but lifted her weapon up at the bird again. She fired, missing, but fired a flurry of shots, all over, in any direction it might fly. Eventually she'd be assured a hit, she figured.

[Zanki]

Zanki sighed, she had listened but she didn't get it. "Wrong wrong wrong! Even if you use such a method to try and get one, such form will only ruin the purity of your Trumpet's sound!" Zanki scolded; the Disc Animals flying around dodging the flurry of shots.

"May I see your Trumpet for a moment..?" Zanki asked, "Perhaps a demonstration will simplify this for you."

[Yukie Kida]

She turned and held it out to him, "Ok, sure, go ahead."

[Zanki]

Zanki took the trumpet, "Thank you." He then turned to flying around trio of Blue Falcon Disc Animals. Focusing on them, he lifted the trumpet slowly and aimed at the air in general; closing his eyes as he took a deep breath followed by an exhale of it. He was using his own senses, hearing the movement of the birds faintly. There was a brief breeze of wind that went by, it whistling eerily as suddenly Zanki's eyes snapped open.

"!" He moved his arm in one fluid movement and squeezing the 'trigger' of the Trumpet he fired one shot which pierced a Blue Falcon in the center. The Blue Falcon let a scratchy cry out before breaking apart. Two remained, still flying around as if nothing happened.

Zanki turned and handed the trumpet back to Yukie. "Now, try again. Focus on only using one shot to down the Falcons." He reminded.
