Recovery (Sayumi)

[Yami no Yaiba]

The life monitor beeped in a rhythm as Yami laid on a bed in a temporary coma, as IV bags and various other monitors were hooked up to her, it would be a while before she would be able to recover from her injuries. But for now this was all the Haji Mon clan was able to do as Ryu sighed and shook his head, he never thought that Ayane would be this heavily injured, it only confirmed his suspicion that one, or more, of the clans are using technology that the Haji Mon clan are not prepared for.

This was troubling indeed, with news that the clans are starting to shift and make alliance not made before it could only mean that something was about to happen, something that would change their lives. If Yami was here sitting on the bed and talking to him he would be at ease, but with her out of commission it would be up to him to prepare the clan for the worse.

[Sayumi Michishige]

"..." A knock was heard on the door, Sayumi was making her presence known before she stepped into the room. She was wearing all black, a different change from her elaborated patterned shirts and her red skirts. She was dressed as if mourning someone who was dead--even if Yami was still fighting for her life, to Sayumi this whole thing was as if she had already died. Sayumi's face was solemn and full of sadness, as she looked up at Ryu--she assumed he was the Second-in-Command of the Haji Mon Clan if Yami was ever taken out of commission.

"How... is she?"

[Yami no Yaiba]

"She's doing fine, she'll survive but she won't be waking up anytime soon," Ryu said as he looked at the girl knowing how much his master cared about the Ikazuchi, perhaps even loved a bit, "how are you holding up?" he asked.

[Sayumi Michishige]

"I'm..." Sayumi's eyes lowered, "It doesn't matter. I'll be fine." She simply said, "I'm a strong girl, and I have to be--for Ayane-chan's sake." She spoke softly.

[Yami no Yaiba]

"You are a strong girl, Yami-sama has often spoke of your strength, it was one of the things that she admired about you. She would be proud of the way you're handling this now," Ryu said.

[Sayumi Michishige]

Sayumi was silent, "...What's it worth though?" She mumbled under her breath; "I'll make sure to repay those traitors for what they did too..." She took Yami's hand into her own, squeezing it.

[Yami no Yaiba]

"Do not let anger cloud your judgement, that has been the downfall of many shinobis, I know how you are feeling. Your anger is shared amongst all the clans, but we must keep a calm head if we are to survive the coming storm," Ryu said wisely.

[Sayumi Michishige]

Sayumi was silent again, only to answer with a nod before finally opening her mouth again to speak. "I understand, Hayabuse-sama." She said softly.

[Yami no Yaiba]

"That's the way," Ryu said before sighing and taking a seat, "I think it is time you know the situation about the ninja world Sayumi-san," Ryu said.

[Sayumi Michishige]

"The situation..?" Sayumi looked confused, she looked at Ryu with a stern expression, "...Is there something I should know, Hayabuse-sama?"

[Yami no Yaiba]

"You should, Yami-sama was trying to keep this a secret from you because she didn't wanted you to get caught in the crossfire. However with how she is now I think it is best if you know the truth. Thing is this isn't the first time the higher clans have been attacking each other, for a few months we've been getting reports of a few High clans attacking other High clans, not surprising as they've done so in the past. However the victims in these cases were clans that were extremely loyal to the Emperor, like the Haji Mon clan, and that is an extreme cause for concern," Ryu began explaining.

"In addition we've been getting reports that these same high clans have been investing in 'something', we don't know what it is but it could be weapons that we're not suited for. They've been talking to some shady character, arms dealers and the like, as well as being extremely quiet recently when usually they're talking their heads about something or rather. Yami had been planning on keeping this quiet and taking them out if it came to that, but it seemed they've made the first move in attacking her."

[Sayumi Michishige]

Sayumi listened, she felt tense, clenching her fists. 'So it all connects...' she looked at Ryu, taking a deep inhale followed by an exhale. "So, its one big conspiracy theory..." She simply said.

[Yami no Yaiba]

"Pretty much if you want to look it that way, not the first time a few High clans have tried to rebel against the Emperor, of course every time the Haji Mon clan have been there to strike them down. But usually we're the first one to get the jump on them, this time I fear that it will be different, however I thought you should know...they will be targeting you to make Yami-sama panic and do something hasty, that's part of the ninja game," Ryu said.

[Sayumi Michishige]

Sayumi clenched her fists, which were over her knees. "...I understand; I'll be ready. I was ready to die when I tried to confront Ravinn Wolf, I shall feel the same if they come attacking me or attempt on my life." Sayumi had a dangerous glint in her eyes as she stared at Ryu; "I will protect my own life for Ayane, but I will take the lives of anyone who try to put further harm to us, or the Emperor himself."

[Yami no Yaiba]

Ryu remained silent and simply nodded, he knew that there was no way to reason with anger, Yami perhaps would have been able to get through to Sayumi's anger but not Ryu. However he hoped that Yami would be well recovered before Sayumi confronted those rebel shinobis or else her words will come true and she will die. If that happened then Yami's heart would be broken and he wasn't sure if she would be able to survive something like that.
