"?!" The Golden Knight perked, striking at only air as Jack had rolled to his side. He slowly turned, watching Jack as he moved.

The Golden Knight stood his ground, ready to endure the tackle and throw Jack onto the ground once he tackled him.

As soon as he collided, he pushed off of the Knight and twisted himself, going for the exit.

The Golden Knight was sent skidding back some from the force, perking only to see Jack had tricked him. "I must be slow in the head to be outwitted as such!" He exclaimed, glaring at Jack he began to try and pursue him but Jack had already gotten a bit of distance away. Thus it would be challenging for The Golden Knight to catch up.

Jack put all of his energy into flight, running as fast as he could, dodging around rocks as he went. He had to escape.

The Golden Knight continued to pursue him, beginning to see the futility in his actions though. For he noticed the distance between them only seemed to decrease faintly. Not good enough for him.

Jack kept pushing himself. He didn't know how much longer he could go, but he refused to stop.

The two continued to rush through the area--The Golden Knight still tailing Jack, he would catch him, he was hell-bent on it, but he seemed to still struggle to catch up with him as Jack maintained his distance from the Golden Knight.

Jack ran out of the cave and took an abrupt turn, planning on losing the Knight.

The Guardian of the Precious had continued to follow Jack to the exit of the ruins; feeling the sensation of outer light pour onto him, the Knight would grow hesitant in movement. This sensation... this feeling... it was something not quite felt for so long; it brought weakness to his body for a brief moment as the Knight had been so accustomed to the darkness of the cave that he had to re-adjust.
"A feeling that has gone so long unfelt..." He grumbled, holding his arm over his vision. "...I consider myself foolish to think that I can catch up to him now." He grimaced, knowing Jack only created more distance between them.

Jack finally slowed and took his time to rest.
He had escaped the ruins, at least, and hoped that the Knight wouldn't pursue. He picked himself up and started to walk on, deciding distance was more important.
He wanted this escape; needed it.
