Dark Thunderstorms [Reina, Yami]

Sayumi grimaced, she was in the hallway of her floor of the Apartment Complex she lived in. Staring out the window next to her, she saw the sky was black as could be with dark clouds as thunder boomed and rain fell heavily. She loved this kind of weather, and yet she hated it--how? Well it was relaxing and easing of the mind to watch this weather, y'know having a lazy day and whatnot. Yet, if Sayumi had wanted to go out--and today was one of those days--it made it impossible to do so.

She looked at her cell-phone, angrily as she mashed away at the keys. Sending a text to her partner.

It read: 'Reina-channn! Its pouring cats and dogs outside, I can't do anything--where are youuuu... ; ~ ;

[Yami no Yaiba]

Yami looked into the apartment complex as she sighed, it wasn't exactly the old dwellings where shinobis used to live, but this is the modern age after all...they couldn't exactly live in straw huts anymore could they? However Yami observed many places where assassins could go into the apartment and kill Sayumi, security was a lax here and Yami needed to make sure Sayumi know that. She jumped straight to the roof before falling backwards and landing in front of Sayumi as she looked at her and smiled, "Hello Sayumi-chan," she said.

Sayumi put her phone in her pocket, as she did she heard a familiar voice. Smiling as she looked in the direction where it came from, seeing Yami. "Ah, Yami-chan, a pleasure." She smiled sweetly, "So, what's the occasion this time?" She giggled.

[Yami no Yaiba]

"Only to give you some advice on safety, I know you probably don't want to hear this but I think that you're a bit vulnerable at your current state," Yami said softly, "I want to give you a few advice on what you can do to protect yourself from other clans and other...evil entities," as she then gave a smirk, "unless you've booby-trapped your apartment."

[Sayumi Michishige]

Sayumi rocked on her heels a little, "Well~ Booby-Trapped is a bit childish of a phrase, let's just say I have a few things in place if any other Shinobi or Monster tries to sneak about in my place." She giggled innocently. "Thank you for your concern Yami-chan but I'm aware of the 'dangers' to living here, if it weren't for the fact Reina's by me and that I'm not poorly weak, I'd be worried." She smiled.

[Yami no Yaiba]

Yami smiled, "Alright I trust you to protect yourself properly, perhaps we can just have a chat between two friends?" she said.

[Sayumi Michishige]

"That would be nice." Sayumi smiled at Yami, "I'm waiting for a reply from Reina so..." She sighed before smiling again, "...I have nothing else to do. So you have me all to yourself, Yami-chan." She giggled.

"Ah Reina-chan might be coming? That would be a pleasure then," Yami replied as she smiled mischievously, "careful Sayumi-chan...I could've taken that invitation the wrong way~" she said giggling, "Wouldn't want to make Reina-chan jealous now would we?"

Sayumi realized what she had said, hearing Yami's words only making the sudden embarrassment as she turned away. Hiding the fact--or rather foolishly trying too--that her face had instantly flushed up. "I-I uhm--" She stuttered, "Yes, so Reina-chan is hopefully coming, otherwise I'm dragging her out from her apartment. She always does this to me..!" She shook her head, trying to change the subject quickly.

[Yami no Yaiba]

'She's fun to tease' Yami thought to herself as she patted Sayumi's head, "Don't overthink it," she said as she looked around the apartment, "I thought you and her would have lived together seeing how you two are practically sisters," she commented.

[Sayumi Michishige]

Sayumi smiled at Yami, still somewhat flustered. "One would think but, the topic never came up. I wouldn't want to force the idea upon Reina-chan." Sayumi explained, her eyes then looked heavy, "To be honest, I've grown accustomed to living alone. Its probably for the best right now considering the Ikazuchi-Arashi Clan is trying to get back up onto its feet."

"It's understandable that you don't want to impose your will on her, however if I can make a suggestion it would be best if you two start to stay together because of you need to get the Ikazuchi-Arashi clan need to be up and running. Besides...I doubt you want to remain alone forever, not even the most dedicated shinobi wish a life of loneliness," Yami said softly

Sayumi looked at Yami as she said those words, she had a point, it was better if they stayed close and... and she was right, Sayumi didn't want to be alone, she hated the feeling, even if she claimed to be accustomed too it. "...I know your right; however what if something comes to be in the near future and I have to throw my life away for the sake of another? I'm a bit scared to get close to others, I always put on a facade of being happy and cheerful for my job and yet, here I found myself getting along great with you an then there's Reina." Sayumi bit her lip, closing her eyes. "I suppose its impossible to be rid of doubts." She doubted that she could do all of this sometimes, she was still young, and she had areas to improve in. She was full aware but the saying that went, 'There's always someone stronger' continuously rang in her ears. "...I just don't want to ring Reina-chan or you down with me if the worst ever transpired."

Yami sat down on the couch as she pulled Sayumi next to her, "It is natural that one would be so afraid of the future, especially knowing the kinds of things we face, you could never know if tomorrow might be your last day. That is why, from my experience, to always live life to the fullest...don't leave anything to regret. If you have to give your life for another then do it not because you have to, but because you want to...for me that would mean the Emperor, and although it should be the same for all shinobis that cannot be controlled. I admire that you take great care with Reina and of course when the times comes I know you will make the right decision," Yami said.

She then took a breath before continuing, "In the end you cannot do everything alone, you cannot take in all the pain and loneliness to yourself, give some to Reina...to me, let us help you Sayumi-chan. I cannot speak for Reina, but if the worst does happen," she stroked Sayumi's cheek, "then I will say with 100% certainty that I died knowing I fought alongside a great kunoichi."

Sayumi stared at Yami, her words truly meant a lot to her and it did comfort her. The words sinking in and easing her heart, which had been shaking--feeling troubled greatly--yet now it began to ease up. Sayumi closing her eyes with rosy pink cheeks as she made a bit of a small exhale. She opened her eyes and made a warm smile to Yami.

"I'm sorry I just went and poured out like that, I guess I've been trying to bottle up too many things. Still, your words mean a lot to me Yami-chan. You've only recently begun to act as a sort of supervisor to me, and yet I feel so much better when you're around. You know what a Shinobi should be and you've tried to guide me onto the right path, I can't express how I feel any other way except through telling you, thank you." She eased into the couch, placing her hands at the rims of her red skirt. Her bangs fell in front of her face.

Sayumi had dealt with a lot up until now; training so fiercely beneath her Great-Grandfather and trying to be a capable upholder of the legacy of the Ikazuchi Style. Fighting so many battles alone for the longest time, growing accustomed to that kind of life style. Then meeting Reina, and teaching her everything she had learned in the past, turning Reina--her greatest friend--into both her Partner and a Pillar of Support. Even now she continued on, but now she had met another who meant a lot to her. Yami was someone to greatly admire for Sayumi, and she was the kind of Shinobi she wanted to be--but at the same time she still possessed her own ambition and she wouldn't give up anytime soon, which meant that one day she would have too...

Sayumi opened her eyes slowly; fighting Yami? It was a hard thought to swallow. She wasn't worry about going easy or being hesitant, but there was a window between the two girls in terms of strength. Sayumi was powerful, yes, so was Reina--yet Yami was stronger than the both of them. She was head of the Shinobi clan that the Emperor cherished most after all. That title alone was proof enough.
