Laurie walked down the street as fast as she could without attracting attention. She had her sunglasses over her eyes in the middle of the night, so that was a difficult task to begin with. But she had to follow the footsteps of a demon using her shades. This unfortunately made it difficult to see where she was going aside from the light of the streetlamps.

Hanz was upside down next to a nearby streetlamp, doing push-ups against it with his feet balancing him on the lamp. He had run out of steam while writing his short story, so in a desperate attempt to cool off his brain he was exercising. His feet blocked the light at random intervals, which seemed to annoy the passersby.

Laurie walked right into the lamppost.

Hanz toppled over and fell flat on his ass, groaning as his body tried to reorient itself. He slowly got up and brushed off his clothes, looking around to find the person responsible for his injury.

"Damn lights" Laurie said pulling off her shades. "Must be a bad wire." As she rubbed her eye sockets she saw Hanz get up. "Are you alright?"

"I highly recommend that if your feet don't get along with your eyes, then you fix one of the problems in that relationship..." Hanz said as he looked over at Laurie. "Why are you wearing sunglasses in the dark? That might just be your problem."

"Magic, long story" Laurie said. "Why were you on that lamp post?"

"Magic, huh...?" Hanz said, a sudden interest in his voice. "I'm an author who lost his spark mid-story, so I came out here to cool down."

Laurie rolled with that. "By chance did you see a demonic zombie running around? Six three, decaying and yet muscly..."

"If I had, then I think I would've called the cops or something. Unless this is a Halloween horror thing, in which case I think you're a few months too early," Hanz joked.

"Thought I'd ask" Laurie said, sighing. "I wish this had been a Halloween thing. Damn it, this is the third time this thing had gotten away from me. I guess he must be 28 Days Later and not Night Of The Living Dead."

"You're a fan of famous movies or some decent books, huh?" Hanz asked as he looked around. "How about you tell me some more? Might even inspire me to write a book or two."

"Well, Demons do exist as it turns out. They feed on fear and nowadays they do this by imitating Horror movies" Laurie said. "I'm tasked with taking them out, along with the rest of my team. I'm apparently tracking 28 Days. Or Walking Dead I guess. Or REC. We've been making too many zombie movies lately."

"What you're spouting sounds like utter nonsense to me. But, alas, I'm bored. I'll play along with this delusion." With that, Hanz walked a few paces, peering into the darkness. "So, where would one usually find one of these Demons?"

"Well, usually there's a screamign crowd that leads us to their general direction" Laurie said. "But for the moment, I'm following a trail of magic left behind thanks to my glasses."
