Hitomi let out a short sigh. "Yeah, but the problem with having a scientist as a dad is that sometimes he gets too busy with his work to notice events in your life. He even missed my high school graduation just for some big experiment."

"You should never curse an absence, but instead be thankful for a presence. I'm sure that he's doing this all for your sake, so that he can have a daughter that isn't ashamed to say his name, but can instead utter it in pride each and every time she says it, and in the chance that he dies, I'm sure he'll have left all of his money to you to make sure you live your life comfortably. At the very least, be happy that he isn't forcing you to be the subject of his experiments."

Takeo didn't expect a philosophical saying from Edgar. As Hitomi heard this, she paused for a minute and said "Maybe you're right. I should be lucky his experiments haven't taken a toll on his mind over the years."

"Your father is a great man who will do great things, and I'm almost certain he'd like nothing more than for you to follow in his footsteps," Edgar said as he began to walk again, his stomach rumbling.

Hitomi nodded in agreement as she heard Edgar's words. She almost didn't notice that they had arrived at the restaurant. "Oh, we're here!" Hitomi opened the door, Takeo following and greeting the man behind the counter. "Takeo-san! Hitomi-chan! Welcome!"
