Camden was in Atlantic City, tracking a Precious. This thing seemed to be capable of altering luck, since the last person known to own it, a serial gambler, has recently struck it very, very rich. He walked into a casino, dressed in a suit so as to not look too out of place, and looked around, searching for his target.

Kakeru stood in the very same casino, hot on the trail of a new Artifact. However, his mind frequently wandered from his mission, drifting to the woman he'd met before. He just couldn't manage to get her out of his thoughts, and he knew it was getting in the way of his mission. Shaking his head quickly, he went back to his brilliantly devised plan. He'd play as a high-roller, and then declare a challenge to any other high-rollers in the building, trying to lure the Artifact's host out. So, at present, he continued phase one, winning game after game.

Camden saw an Asian man winning several times in a row. He flagged down a waiter and grabbed himself a drink before heading towards the table he was at. A few tables over, another man had also been winning several times in a row. His eyes seemed blank, vacant almost, though.

Kakeru continued playing, seemingly not giving a care at all about what was around him, but he actually had Azo sniffing out the area, looking for any scents that seemed off. Well, more off than normal Atlantic City. After a few more minutes and another game, he finally responded, pointing out a man a few tables away. "That one seems likely. Smells like he has far less neural transmitters going, and it's not just from booze." Keeping quiet, Kakeru finished his game, before raising his hand, finger pointed to the heavens.

"Whatcha doin' there?" Camden said, sitting down next to him. The man sat, playing his games and winning each and every time. He was a complete blank slate, face and eyes empty.

Kakeru grinned, mumbling an audible, but low, response. "You'll see." With his hand still pointed to the heavens, he let out a bellowing mix of a growl and a roar, a thunderous sound drawing all eyes to him. All eyes except for the blanked host. "Alright then! Any high rollers in the building, anyone with the cogliones to play a game against me, come on over. Just be warned, I'm cranking the stakes tenfold, so no chickenshits." He laughed, betting on the nature of Artifacts to drive hosts to do anything to use the Artifact more and more.

The host's head snapped around. His eyes locked on Kakeru, and he rose, approaching Kakeru. "I'll take you." The man said. Camden was a little taken aback by the noise the guy had made. He pulled out the Red Changer, and began scanning both men for Precious surreptitiously.

Kakeru smiled wryly as the man approached, as it proved his hunch entirely. Slipping his hand down to his side, he pulled out a deck of cards. "We play my game. Poker. But how about a little change in the rules? I'll bet my most valuable possession, my antique ring. I'll expect something of equal value from you."

The man smiled, pulling an old, worn six-sided die from his hand. "My grandpa's old loaded die." He set it next to the ring. Camden was picking up Precious from both men. He sat and watched the game.

Kakeru chuckled. He knew the man was holding back, since dice are very rarely used individually. But he wasn't bothered. He knew that if he could get the one, he could get any more much easier. So, he placed his ring on the table, next to the die, and placed his deck on the table. "You, over there." He said, pointing to Camden. "You deal, capeesh? Gotta have an impartial party, which means no casino employees, and neither o' us." He said sharply, sliding the deck to the man.

"Okay...." Camden said, shuffling the deck. He motioned a dealer over and had a quick talk with him about how to actually deal, before giving the requisite number of cards to each man and setting three face down on the table. (operating on Texas Hold 'Em rules.)

Kakeru chuckled, taking his seat opposite his opponent, waiting for the cards to be dealt. He knew he'd win, with the special pheromones placed on each card, so light that only an animal, or Azo, could detect them at all, let alone smell the differences between them. It was just a matter of time before he did.

The man looked at his cards, setting them facedown with his hands over them. Camden sat, looking between the two men. He looked to the host. The man simply knocked on the table, signifying a call. Camden looked to Kakeru next.

Kakeru laid his hand on the table, cards face down, and grinned. "Raise."

"How much?" Camden asked. The host simply stared at the table, eyes vacant.
