"Well pretty much," Clive said, "you wanna go first?" he offered.

"Sure thing"
With that, Sarah switched from the Gauntlet to the Ebon Blade, holding the sword in a rather...awkward manner. She had been doing some self-training with the sword, given her own lack of experience, but it was clear she still had a lot to learn. Hence why she usually relied on the Gauntlet or her Onyx Form. She didn't opt for the latter though as she wanted to strike the beast down while she had the advantage.
Rushing forward at the monster, and hoping she wouldn't stumble on the way, she thrust her weapon, aiming for its chest.

Clive looked at Sarah hold the sword quite...awkwardly as he filed in his head to recommend her to some training instructors he knew here in America. If she was going to use a sword she might as well use it properly as she charged ahead and attempted to stab the Phantom with the blade as the Phantom merely parried it and slashed at Sarah. Stifling a sigh Clive went in with his dual blades as he parried every attack the Phantom gave before managing to get a strike in.

Sarah winced in pain as the Phantom's blade slashed her. The armor provided protection, but nonetheless, sword blows still hurt.
That...that probably wasn't a good idea. Sarah thought, she likely would be thinking worse had Clive not stepped in. He seemed good, very good, enough to remind her how out of her league she'd be in a fight with him.
Then again, no one said being a hero wouldn't involve plenty of growing pains. For now, she stood aside from the fight, blade ready. She figured it was best to let Clive handle this until either an opening presented itself, or her friend needed assistance.

Clive continued to parried the monster until the Phantom vanished and then reappeared behind him slashing from behind as he cried out and rolled to the ground before being attacked again as the Phantom vanished, "Some kind of vanishing monster huh? This will be tricky," Clive said.

"No kidding" Sarah said as she quickly moved to help Clive up his feet.
The Phantom would be able to strike anywhere thanks to his teleporting ability, which would make it very difficult to guard the blindspot, unless...
Sarah quickly moved behind Clive, her back facing his. Whatever direction the monster hit, they would have a 360 field of vision with which one or the other could counter, then strike.

"Ah of course...a classic counter-tactic, quite good Miss Markowitz," Clive said as he prepared himself for an attack as the Phantom circled them trying to get one of them, by surprised, the downside to its vanishing ability was that it would have to appear physically for it to attack. It then decided to try and attack at Sarah as it reappeared in front of her and swiped its claw at her.

"Why thank-" And that was when the Phantom reappeared right in front of her.
Gathering all her strength, Sarah took this opportunity to again strike the monster in its chest with the Ebon Blade. She undoubtedly would take a hit from the monster's claw swipe, but if she hit the mark, it would be worth it.
If not...well, best not to think about that. She thought.

The Phantom managed to get a hit in with Sarah, however at the same time it got hit as well as it groaned and stumbled backwards. Clive used that opportunity to fire off several spears of ice as it pierced through the Phantom as it groaned in pain, "The finisher..." Clive said as the dual blades merged as one as he ran his hand on the flat side of the blade before he slashed at the Phantom as it burst into flames before exploding as the blade turned into two once more before sheathing at his sides.

Sarah couldn't help but smile as she saw the Phantom burst into flames. Yeah, she undoubtedly was going to be feeling those bruises for a while, but she was glad to see that her gambit payed off...Of course, having an experienced Rider by her side certainly helped.
"Thank-ow!...Thank you" She said to Clive as she got back on her feet, a hand over the section of armor protecting her ribs. She could hear the police sirens coming in the distance "Shall we find a more private location?"

Clive sighed as he inspected the damage, he certainly did not want to be here when the cops start asking questions and they seemed to be close judging by the sirens. Sarah then suggested a more private place, "I agree, however there's a faster way then just walking there," he said as he grabbed her close to him before uttering a spell before teleporting her and him to his room where Luna was.
"What are you doing? And who is that?" Luna asked pointing to Sarah.
"Sara Markowitz, she's like us," Clive said as he turned back to his human form and let go of Sarah.

"Hey, wai-" And before Sarah knew it, she was no longer in the wrecked environs of the Black Flag bar, but what appeared to be a hotel room, they also weren't alone, judging by the young girl.
She was a tad bit disoriented, what with her being teleoported for the first time as she reverted back to human form. "Um...hi" She introduced herself to Luna. "Friend of yours?"

"My apprentice," Clive said as Luna crossed her arms, "come on Luna she's an ally."
"She's not someone you flirted with again is it master?" Luna asked, "The last time you brought a woman you picked up from the bar it turned out to be a Worm...and that was a pain to deal with."
"Luna that's a little bit personal," Clive gritted as Luna sighed before turning to Sarah.
"Luna O' Farrel, MagiBlue, pleased to make your acquaintance Miss Markowitz," Luna said.

Wait, did she say flirted? And what's this about a Worm? Sarah thought, as if her friend being a Rider was the least out of the ordinary. Just meant she now had even more questions.
"Pleasure to meet you" Sarah said as she shook Luna's hand. She then turned to Clive "So, you're a Rider. She's your apprentice. If you don't mind, I'd like to ask a few questions, unless you want to do the same first."

Luna shook Sarah's hand before turning back to a laptop as she began working on it as Clive turned to Sarah as he poured some apple juice for the two of them as he handed one to Sarah, "Apple juice?" he asked before nodding, "go ahead I don't have any pressing questions other then the who, when, what, where and why question of how you became a rider, or/and your agendas."
