McKenzie had just come back from America with some new thoughts about her coins, but also a great feeling of pain and depression after having to relive her rape again. As she came off the plane, she wondered if she could find Nathan. That would probably cheer her up, at least. She left the airport and walked back into town. Outfit

Kakeru sighed. Sometimes he loved his job. Other times, he really hated it. This fell into the latter. He was already irritated from having been roped into doing patrols on one of his rare days off, and he just happened to encounter a Macchina Parassita in the middle of a major city, and had to give chase to the tentacled ball of monster. So there he was, riding his motorcycle through a crowded city street, hot on the tail of a big ball of tentacles.

McKenzie walked into town, seeing some people talking about what they had just seen. She managed to get out of it something about a monster, and someone on a motorcycle chasing it. Well, she guessed that wasn't too hard to figure out.

Kakeru continued to chase the Parassita, going past in front of McKenzie, with Kakeru yelling out at the beast. "Get back here you damn ero-manga reject! I'm gonna kick your ass six ways from Sunday!"

She had seen monsters before, but that one was new. She couldn't do anything about it, though.

As the Parassita hit a dead end by being blocked by multiple cars that it couldn't climb over, Kakeru leapt from his bike, brandishing a new sword that R&D wanted him to test, and thrust it down through the Parassita's core, slaying it in one shot, thought the sword shattered when the tip hit the ground.

McKenzie stayed around a bit, listening to people talking, before she started walking on. She wanted to get home for now.

Kakeru stood up, brushing himself off, before tossing the remains of the shattered sword to the ground and whistling for Lady Luck to park itself. Afterwards, he walked over towards the blonde woman who was casually walking away. "Pretty calm for someone who just saw a monster explode maybe fifteen feet away. Any particular reason for that?" He asked inquisitively.

She turned back to him, "I just got back from America. I didn't feel like standing around and watching something like that happening."

Kakeru chuckled. "No, what I'm saying is that the average person would likely be running in terror from seeing a monster." As he finished speaking, his eyes shifted from red to white, a sneer forming across his face. "And you don't exactly smell 'normal.' And I don't mean the faint smell of ocean air."

That switch confused her, "What?" she questioned. It wasn't like everyone had run away. There were others who watched.

He sighed, trying to keep his cool over his fighting instinct. "Human. You don't smell human. Not entirely, at least."

"I...I don't know what you mean by that." Well, how could one 'smell' human?

A snarl, before his eyes changed yet again, taking on a black tone. "We don't mean a literal scent. It's more of a...presence. An energy. And yours isn't that of a normal human."

"What do you mean by 'we'?" she asked.
